It’s hard to believe the there are only two weeks remaining in the NFL regular season. As teams begin to clinch and get eliminated, it makes for an interesting couple of weeks in the DFS world. It somewhat narrows down options and raises ownership percentages on certain guys when teams sit starters. With two weeks remaining we might still have time for a juggle in our overall standings at the top. Rotowire has maintained the lead for a long while now but that lead is now less than .10 and strange things can happen. As always, you can see how all the experts are doing by checking out NFL Expert Standings.

Be sure to come back each week for a review of the Industry Consensus picks highlighting the top (and bottom) grades for the week and season from the experts we are tracking. For Week 15 we tracked and graded 20 sets of expert picks including the Industry Consensus list.

On to the Week 15 grades, class is in session!

Consensus Recap – Week 15

The Consensus provided an even fifty total picks in Week 15 for a 11th place finish and a Daily Overlay score of 3.44. Twenty of those picks finished with a failing grade while thirteen had “A+” scores. A position-by-position breakdown is below.

QB (Score: 4.63 / Rank 10th out of 18) – A nice week for the Consensus QBs. Cam Newton, Nick Foles and Blake Bortles pulled in “A+” grades to boost the score.

RB (Score: 4.00 / Rank 11th out of 20) – Another nice showing for the Consensus at the RB spot. Three “A+” grades from Le’Veon Bell, Todd Gurley and Mark Ingram were the bright spots.

WR (Score: 1.87 / Rank 9th out of 20) – A crappy score but finished in the top half due to most experts struggling. Nine of the 15 plays finished with a failing score. Marquise Goodwin and Michael Thomas used “A+” grades to help the Consensus out.

TE (Score: 3.89 / Rank 12th out of 20) – A much better score than last week but similar spot in the standings. Three “A+” grades from Charles Clay, Gronk and Garrett Celek boosted the Consensus score.

D/ST (Score: 4.00 / Rank T-8th out of 17) – Another much better score over last week. The Ravens and Vikings provided “A+” scores for the week.

Head of the Class – Week 15

Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 15 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week.

#1) Rotoballer (Score: 7.00) put together another great week. Five of their seven plays finished “A” or better including “A+” scores from Michael Thomas, Keelan Cole and the Vikes D/ST.

#2) DailyFantasySportsRankings (Score: 5.43) found the top-2 as half of their 14 plays scored an “A+” grade. Those “A+” scores came from Cam Newton, Le’Veon Bell, Marquise Goodwin, Garrett Celek, Charles Clay, Vikings D/ST and Ravens D/ST.

#3) DK Playbook (Score: 5.08) slots into the #3 spot for the week. Half of their 12 plays scored an “A+” and those came from Bortles, Foles, Keelan Cole, Ben Watson, Charles Clay and the Rams D/ST. They were the lone expert site to play the Rams D/ST.

Top Value – Rotoballer (3.96 DK Pts/$1000) took the “Top Value” title this week.

Head of the Class – Week 15 (By Position)

Sometimes there is just that one class that you excel in. In this section, I will highlight who the top experts were at each position for Week 15.

QB – DK Playbook, GoingFor2, Daily Overlay – Value Index (10.00) topped the list. DK Playbook rolled with Bortles and Foles for their two perfect scores. GoingFor2 and Stephen played Cam Newton.

RB – Daily Overlay – Hot Sheet (5.67) scored a “B” or better with all six of his plays. Brad picked up “A+” grades from Le’Veon Bell and Mark Ingram.

WR – Rotoballer (10.00) was the top expert at the WR position again in Week 15. Michael Thomas and Keelan Cole provided the “A+” grades.

TE – Four Tied (10.00) atop the list at the TE position this week.

DST – Rotoballer, Sportsline (10.00) played the Vikings and Ravens, respectively, on their way to the top spot.

Study Time – Week 15

If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 15 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.

  • DailyFantasyNerd (Score: 2.00) scored a failing grade with five of their nine plays.
  • RotoGrinders Lineup Builder (Score: 1.22) also scored a failing grade with five of their nine plays.

Extra Credit – Week 15

In this section, I will look to give some extra credit to experts that received an A+ grade for a player where they were the lone expert to recommend. Week 15 extra credit goes to the following:

A+ – Sterling Shepard (DailyRoto)
A+ – Rams D/ST (DK Playbook)
A+ – Greg Olsen (Daily Overlay – Hot Sheet)

#3) ProFootballFocus (Score: 3.55) stayed flat but was able to jump up one spot in the standings and into the top-3 overall.

#4) GoingFor2 (Score: 3.54) moved up a spot due to a nice .08 gain in score for the week. They are on the cusp of cracking back into the top-3.
