Welcome to the Industry Expert Consensus picks for Week 10 of the NFL season. As always, if you want to see how the experts performed last week check out my Week 9 Industry Expert Grading column and the Industry Expert Standings for all experts. So far this season the Consensus picks are sitting in the middle of the pack in the overall standings.

There are a lot of big gaps in the consensus picks this week between the top tier and the rest of the list at most positions. At quarterback, it looks like you should be picking one of the top four options which offers a nice mix of high priced and cheap options. Running back isn’t quite as top heavy, but still looks like there are some obvious plays you should be considering this week. At wide receiver, there are two selections that rise above the rest of the field. If you are going to get some variation in your lineup this week, the wide receiver position might be where you need to do it. Tight end is basically a choice between two candidates and the decision comes down to if you want to spend top dollar on a tight end or go with a cheaper option.

As a reminder, the number in the parenthesis is the number of experts that chose that player so you have more context regarding the gaps between players and the tiers.

Here are the consensus plays for Week 10…

Quarterbacks

Highly Touted

  • Aaron Rodgers (16) – After a couple tough road games, he gets some home-cookin’ this week against the Lions
  • Blake Bortles (13) – Faces a Ravens pass defense that has given up multiple TD passes in 6 out of 8 games this season and won’t break the bank
  • Tom Brady (12) – It will cost you to get him, but the Patriots have the highest team total in Vegas again this week
  • Kirk Cousins (10) – Faces a Saints defense that has given up 10 TD passes over the last 2 weeks, cheap option

Recommended

  • Derek Carr (5) – Carr has 3 or more TD passes in 3 straight games and he is still reasonably priced
  • Drew Brees (4) – Brees is hot right now with 10 TD passes over the last 2 weeks
  • Andy Dalton (4) – Has consistently put up solid numbers all season

Suggested

  • Joe Flacco (3) – Home game coming off a bye against the Jaguars
  • Landry Jones (3) – Cheap QB option likely filling in for Roethlisberger
  • Cam Newton (3) – Superman looks to keep the undefeated season rolling

Running Backs

Highly Touted

  • DeAngelo Williams (15) – Had 225 total yards last week and faces the weak Browns rush defense this week
  • Todd Gurley (13) – Gurley should be highly owned again this week
  • Mark Ingram (13) – Ingram disappointed last week, but the experts are going back to him again this week
  • Darren McFadden (11) – Has had at least 26 touches in each of his last 3 games

Recommended

  • DeMarco Murray (9) – Murray has been productive over the last 4 weeks
  • Adrian Peterson (8) – Guaranteed to get a lot of carries and always a threat for a big game

Suggested

  • James Starks (6) – Has taken over as the primary RB for the Packers, cheaper option
  • LeGarrette Blount (6) – Patriots like to pound the ball with Blount when they get out to a big lead
  • Justin Forsett (5) – Ravens are about a five-point favorite at home so they could lean on the run
  • Doug Martin (3) – Faces Cowboys defense that has given up some good games to opposing RBs

Wide Receivers

Highly Touted

  • Allen Robinson (16) – Good play with Allen Hurns active, could be a great play if Hurns is out
  • Randall Cobb (13) – Cobb and Aaron Rodgers started to click again in the 2nd half last week
  • Demaryius Thomas (9) – Could be ready for a bounce-back game after only 5-50 last week
  • Odell Beckham Jr. (9) – Needs a big game for Giants to keep up with the Patriots

Recommended

  • Julian Edelman (7) – A lock for at least 5 catches and 50 yards, likely to get more this week
  • Brandon LaFell (7) – Inexpensive option to get a piece of the Patriots offense
  • DeAndre Hopkins (7) – Some people might forget about him since he was on bye last week
  • AJ Green (6) – Only 1 TD since Week 3, could have a big game on Monday night stage
  • Stefon Diggs (6) – Down game last week, but has a better matchup this week

Suggested

  • Alshon Jeffery (5) – Jay Cutler only has eyes for you (31 targets over last 2 weeks)
  • Michael Crabtree (5) – More targets, receptions, and TDs than Amari Cooper, but still cheaper on most sites
  • Mike Evans (5) – Had 19 targets last week with Vincent Jackson out, Jackson expected to be out again this week
  • Dez Bryant (4) – Had 100 yards and a score last week
  • Brandin Cooks (4) – Has topped 70 yards and scored two weeks in a row
  • Jarvis Landry (4) – Leads Dolphins in targets and receptions

Tight Ends

Highly Touted

  • Rob Gronkowski (17) – Always an option and faces Giants team that cannot cover the TE
  • Jordan Reed (16) – Faces Saints team that gave up a big game to Delanie Walker last week

Recommended

  • Gary Barnidge (9) – Might depend on if Josh McCown can start or not
  • Greg Olsen (7) – Has a TD in two straight weeks
  • Richard Rodgers (5) – Cheap TE option who has Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball

Suggested

  • Delanie Walker (3) – Still getting some love this week after his big game last week
  • Tyler Eifert (3) – Leads the league in TD receptions
  • Kyle Rudolph (3) – Faces Raiders team that seems to be better against TE recently
