On to the Week 9 grades, class is in session!
Consensus Recap – Week 9
The Consensus put together another solid week in Week 9. A 3.72 score positioned the Consensus in 11th out of the 18 experts that submitted selections.
Overall (Score: 3.72 / Rank 11th out of 18) – Ten of the 25 plays scored an “A” or better for the week including five “A+” grades. The “A+” scores came from D’Eriq King, Kyler Murray, Eno Benjamin, Pooka Williams and CeeDee Lamb.
Head of the Class – Week 9
Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 9 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week. Overall, the scores were about the same as last week.
#1) DailyOverlay Single Pick (Score: 10.00) scored an “A+” with Eno Benjamin.
#2) DailyFantasySportsRankings (Score: 5.67) scored an “A” or better with four of their six picks with two “A+” scores. The “A+” grades came from D’Eriq King and Eno Benjamin.
#3) TheDailyAudible (Score: 5.13) rounds out the top-3 for the week with five of their eight plays scoring “A” or better. Their two “A+” grades also came from King and Benjamin.
Head of the Class – Week 9 (By Position)
Sometimes there is just that one class that you excel in. In this section, I will highlight who the top experts were at each position for Week 9.
QB – Rotoworld, Sportsline (10.00) both utlized D’Eriq King and Kyler Murray for their perfect scores.
RB – DailyOverlay Single Pick (10.00) scored an “A+” with Eno Benjamin to top the RB scores.
WR – RG CFB Marketplace Projections, Sporting News (5.00) tied atop the WR scores. Sporting News scored two “A” grades with RG came though with an “A+,” an “A” and a failing grade.
Study Time – Week 9
If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 9 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.
- DailyRoto (Score: 2.06) had a score that was not indicative of what the bottom-2 normally scores. Never have we seen someone that scored an “A+” finish in the top-2 until this week.
- AthlonSports (Score: 1.25) scored a failing grade with half of their eight picks to bring up the rear this week.
Extra Credit – Week 9
In this section, I will look to give some extra credit to experts that received an A+ grade for a player where they were the lone expert to recommend. Week 9 extra credit goes to the following:
A+ – For the 2nd week in a row, there were no players that scored an “A+” who were only selected by one expert.
Head of the Class – Season
Here are the top experts in the Overall Standings after Week 8 of the season. We still have quite a bit of maneuvering in the top-5 weekly
#1) DailyOverlay Single Pick (Score: 4.10) makes a big jump into 1st place with an “A+” this week.
#2) RG CFB Marketplace Projections (Score: 4.06) dropped one spot but still has a stranglehold on a top-2 spot.
#3) RG Consensus (Score: 3.95) also dropped a spot. That said, RG is still holding down two of the top three spots in the standings.
#4) Sporting News (Score: 3.66) continued the “drop one spot” position. A lot of cushion between them and the next spot on the list.
#5) DFS Karma (Score: 3.40) didn’t move and still sits in 5th place.
The DailyOverlay Industry Consensus stood pat in 14th place in the overall standings out of 26 experts with a DO score of 3.03. The Consensus hopped up over that 3.0 threshold after last week.
