NFL Showdown – Week 5 (Thursday) – LAR v SEA
My Week 4 Showdown lineups fared very well which put me into the plus side for the season in both Cash and GPPs on these one-game slates. I’ll look to keep it rolling to kick off Week 5 with a matchup between the Rams and Seahawks. This matchup on the short week has me worried about both team’s running games due to the potential for ineffectiveness and split carries due to the varying health of both team’s RBs.

King
- Russell Wilson – There was really no one else I even considered for the “King” slot for this matchup. Wilson is the player with the highest floor in this game and still has good upside as well. Wilson threw for 3 TDs in each of the matchups with the Rams last season.
Cash Core
- Greg Zuerlein – The second name I locked into my cash game lineup was the Rams kicker. He has scored at least nine DK points in all four games this year and the Seahawks have allowed an average of two field goals per game
- Jared Goff – You’ll notice my recommendations avoid the RB position which is odd for a showdown lineup, but as I mentioned in the intro I have concerns about the volume and matchups. So, I’ll go with Goff to anchor my Rams exposure in a league-average matchup the Seahawks pass defense posting a 17th DVOA ranking.
- Tyler Lockett – Lockett has a much more favorable matchup than the other Seahawks WRs while he works out of the slot. He scored in both meetings with the Rams last season.
GPP
My GPP angle for Thursday’s matchup is to use secondary pieces of the Seahawks offense such as Rashaad Penny and David Moore along with keeping Russell Wilson in the King slot. Then pair up the Rams, Goff to Brandin Cooks connection, plus one other player of your choosing.
