NBA – Value Index – Friday, Dec. 6
Heat/Wizards provides potential best value plays
Happy Friday everyone!
Wednesday’s Value Index was straight fire, with one swing and miss, which happened to be Luka Doncic. I will go down swinging with Luka any day and missing on him isn’t the same as missing on a 3rd string player who vaults into the starting lineup due to injuries, plays 29 minutes and scores 11 fantasy points at near min salary a la Dennis Smith Jr.
We have 10 games on tonight’s slate with very notable marquee matchups – Clippers at Bucks, Celtics and Nuggets and Lakers and Trail Blazers. However, I do like a lot of the matchups for game stacks, which is a bit rare for me. Games I like outside of the marquee matchups to stack tonight:
Brooklyn at Charlotte
Orlando at Cleveland
Indiana at Detroit
Washington at Miami
Golden State at Chicago
Sacramento at San Antonio
Will I stack all of them?
No, but I will be using these games as ways to build my core to fit in the studs that are in marquee games tonight. That’s how I am going to approach this slate, so out with it already, right?
Ish Smith – PG – Washington Wizards – $3,900
Analysis: The value on the board tonight likely comes from this Washington/Miami game. The Wizards are likely without Isaiah Thomas tonight, meaning Ish Smith vaults into 30+ minutes and the starting lineup. While Miami isn’t an ideal matchup on paper, they will be without Goran Dragic and possibly Justise Winslow, opening up value on their team as well and boosting usage for their mainstay on the outside, but more on him later…maybe. As for Ish, he will garner the minutes, the extra usage and shots, opening the door for him to make value at 5x at his very, very cheap price tag that did not account for Isaiah Thomas’ potential absence.
