NBA – Value Index – Monday, Oct. 28
Big-time revenge game highlights Monday’s 12-game slate
You’ve had your appetizer, and now starts the main course for the 2019-20 NBA season.
Tonight we have 12 games at our disposal, and we have double-revenge narrative on tap? Really, the narrative applies more this time around for one player than it does for the other compadre on his team.
I bet you can guess who I am referencing, no?
Well, you will find out soon enough…if you are a regular sub to our content here at DailyOverlay (insert wink emoji).
The Value Index operates differently for this season as we focus on one core play at each of the five starting positions using DraftKings pricing.
Value can mean anything in this version of the Index, it doesn’t have to just be cheap guys we can look to.
Typically, I like to find guys with whom I feel have a floor of 5x their salary.
So for example, if a guy costs $10,000, then I would want him to minimally score 50 fantasy points, i.e. 10 x 5 = 50. Any more points on top of that salary is gravy.
Now let’s get to today’s picks, shall we?
Good luck!
RJ Barrett – SG – New York Knicks – $6,100
Analysis: The No. 3 pick in the draft has shot totals of 13, 16 and 20, all trending up in his first games of his career. He’s averaging 35 points per game and can contribute to the fantasy points stat sheet with points, rebounds, assists and has even had upside in steals with 6 in one game this year. The Knicks and Bulls tonight features 2 teams in the top-10 in pace so far, and while the Knicks have a big rotation, Barrett has provided mainstay stability logging 37, 36 and 37 minutes this season. He is the guy they have charged to build this franchise around and he’s the guy that’s going to get the run.
