NFL – Week 3 Showdown (Thursday) – PIT v CLE
NFL DFS Showdown – Week 3 (Thursday) – PIT v CLE
Well, we went from a Thursday night matchup in Week 2 between a pair of high-flying offenses (Chiefs/Chargers), to a matchup of two ground-and-pound offenses facing strong defenses (Steelers/Browns). See how to handle the matchup in Showdown for Cash and small GPPs.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns
Team | QB | RB | Left | Slot | Right | TE | D | K | Vegas |
Pittsburgh Steelers | 50 | 45 | 49 | 49 | 48 | 51 | 45 | 52 | 38.5 |
Cleveland Browns | 46 | 67 | 42 | 36 | 60 | 48 | 47 | 61 | -4.5 |
Captain
- Diontae Johnson – The best path for success moving the ball for the Steelers is through the air. Johnson has double-digit targets in each of his first two games with Mitch Trubisky under center.
Cash Core
- Nick Chubb & Kareem Hunt – The Browns backfield is difficult to predict on a week-to-week basis, so I’m going to accumulate all of the Browns’ RB points by using both of them in Cash as a home favorite in a good matchup.
- Kicker – Pick one of the kickers. Touchdowns will be hard to come by in this matchup, so both kickers should have at least two field goal attempts.
- Defense – Pick one of the defenses. In a divisional game with a low Vegas total, both defenses should be strong value options with how few fantasy points will be scored by skill position players.
GPP
The GPP pivot for this matchup is to roster both QBs and only WRs and TEs. So much ownership will go towards the RBs, Kickers, and Defenses, that avoiding them completely and hoping for some decent passing game work on both sides can give you leverage on the field. I’d recommend using one of the pass catchers in the Captain slot with the QBs both as flex picks.
