NFL – Week 4 Showdown (Monday) – CIN v PIT
NFL DFS Showdown – Week 4 (Monday) – CIN v PIT
Hopefully, I can carry my momentum from the Thursday night showdown advice into my Monday night showdown recommendations. Thursday’s Cash game lineup easily exceeded the cash line and had a clean sweep of head-to-heads. My GPP lineup, led by Jordan Howard in the King slot also netted a 10x profit.
Monday’s matchup between the Bengals and Steelers could offer up a good back-and-forth game between to similar teams who are both desperate for their first win of the season. The key to my lineups tonight is going to be Mason Rudolph.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Team | QB | RB | Right | Slot | Left | TE | D | K | Vegas |
Cincinnati Bengals | 57 | 48 | 43 | 59 | 34 | 55 | 38 | 46 | 45 |
Pittsburgh Steelers | 60 | 66 | 48 | 64 | 41 | 63 | 52 | 59 | -3.5 |
King
- Mason Rudolph – Truth be told, I would prefer to get James Conner into the King slot, but I feel that my overall lineup suffers when paying up for Conner in this slot. So, I’m going to take on a little bit of potential risk in this spot to form a more balanced lineup without any holes. The Bengals pass defense does rank 24th DVOA, allowing 245 passing yards and 2 TDs per game. I’ll take that from Rudolph.
Cash Core
- James Conner – Conner is in a great spot playing at home as a favorite against a weak Bengals run defense. The Bengals rank 28th DVOA against the run and have allowed 138 rushing yards (31st) on 5.24 YPC (29th) with 1.3 TDs (30th) per game to RBs.
- Tyler Boyd – I’m expecting a fairly close back-and-forth game which means I want to get the primary pieces of the Bengals offense, as well. Boyd leads the Bengals in targets and receptions and has a better individual matchup than fellow WR John Ross this week.
- Joe Mixon – Mixon has seen his workload increase each week this season and he will be needed this week on the road against a division rival. The Steelers have allowed 128 rushing yards (30th) and 1.0 TDs (22nd) per game to RBs this season.
GPP
My GPP angle for this matchup is that the college (and pre-season) connection between Mason Rudolph and James Washington blows up this week. So, plug Washington into the King slot, while stacking up Rudolph and adding Conner along with him to cover the Steelers offense. Then on the Bengals side, use Andy Dalton and take a shot on Giovani Bernard who could get extended work if the Bengals fall behind or if Mixon gets hurt. Lastly, get creative to fill the final slot, and don’t be afraid to leave some salary on the table.
Best Bet
Steelers -3.5
