NFL DFS Showdown – Week 4 (Thursday) – DEN v NYJ
The only reason to watch this Thursday’s matchup between the Broncos and Jets is if you have some money on it. So, be sure to get some DFS lineups in or place a bet, otherwise, the game will be unwatchable.

Team | QB | RB | Left | Slot | Right | TE | D | K | Vegas |
Denver Broncos | 49 | 42 | 32 | 52 | 43 | 52 | 49 | 58 | -1 |

Captain
- Sam Darnold – The Captain spot comes down to Darnold or Melvin Gordon and I’ll give the slight edge to the QB in a matchup without many offensive players with big salaries. I expect the Jets to have more success through the air than on the ground against a Broncos defense that has allowed 286 passing yards (27th) and 2.3 TD passes (23rd per game while ranking 26th DVOA versus the pass.
Cash Core
- Melvin Gordon – With the third string QB under center (Brett Rypien) and playing a potentially beatable opponent, the Broncos should lean on their running game, which at the moment (assuming Phillip Lindsay remains out) is Gordon. Gordon only saw 12 touches on Sunday so he should be ready to take on a full workload against the Jets run defense which has allowed 115 rushing yards (25th) on 4.65 YPC (22nd) and 1.0 TDs (19th) per game on the ground to RBs this season.
- Jamison Crowder – It sounds like Crowder will play on Thursday which will be a welcome site for Darnold and the Jets. Crowder saw 13 targets in the opener before missing the last two weeks and draws a good matchup against the Broncos secondary who has allowed 16.3 receptions (31st) for 195 yards (28th) per game to WRs this season.
- Tim Patrick – Patrick saw three of the first five pass attempts from Rypien when he entered the game last week. There is always a WR that the backup QB seems to have a connection with and that appears to be Patrick. Don’t expect huge yardage but he should be able to rack up some catches which give him a good floor on a PPR site like DraftKings.
GPP
Give me a full Jets onslaught for my GPP lineup. Start with Darnold in the Captain spot then pepper in two of his pass-catchers with one of them being Chris Herndon. Add in the Jets defense and your favorite time-share back (mine is La’Mical Perine). Then pick whichever Broncos player you think will score the most raw points with the abundance of salary you will have left.
