NFL – Week 8 Showdown (Thursday) – WAS v MIN
NFL DFS Showdown – Week 8 (Thursday) – WAS v MIN
Seems like all of these Showdown matchups are potential blowouts lately which means stack up five players from the favorite and find one option from the underdog in Cash games for Thursday game between the underdog Redskins and home favorite Vikings. On the GPP side, I think we can go with a revenge game narrative, but which one, with so many options to choose from?

Washington Redskins @ Minnesota Vikings
Team | QB | RB | Right | Slot | Left | TE | D | K | Vegas |
Washington Redskins | 46 | 33 | 68 | 47 | 57 | 43 | 32 | 18 | 42 |
Minnesota Vikings | 59 | 65 | 60 | 68 | 52 | 46 | 61 | 51 | -15.5 |
King
- Dalvin Cook – Cook is expensive, but there is no player more secure in his floor and ceiling in a game that should script out well for the Vikings running game as more than a two-touchdown home favorite. The Redskins rank 20th DVOA against the run and have allowed 107 rushing yards (25th) per game to RBs this season.
Cash Core
- Vikings D/ST – The Vikings defense typically plays better at home and gets a favorable matchup in the short week. The Redskins have allowed 3.2 sacks and 2.4 turnovers per game over the last five weeks and have an implied team total of just 13.25 points.
- Alexander Mattison – In the five games that the Vikings have won (all by double-digits), Mattison has averaged just about 10 carries for 48 yards per game and the opportunity for a score is there. Mattison could get a few extra touches in this game on a short week after Cooks had a season-high 25 carries on Sunday.
- Jeremy Sprinkle – Sprinkle is a cheap Redskins receiving option that has played a lot of snaps the last two weeks with Vernon Davis out. The fantasy numbers haven’t been there yet, but the Vikings have allowed 7.8 receptions (32nd) for 71 yards (28th) to TEs over the last five weeks.
GPP
I’m going with the revenge game narrative for my GPP lineup. No, not Adrian Peterson returning to Minnesota nor Kirk Cousins facing his old club, instead, give me Case Keenum who was jettisoned from the Vikings after taking them to the NFC Championship game two years ago. Plug Keenum into the King slot and then pair him up with both of his primary WRs (Terry McLaurin and Paul Richardson). Bring it back on the Vikings side with just their running game using both Cook and Mattison and then grab your favorite option with the remaining salary.
