What actually happened

Senators 2, Sabres 1. Buffalo led 1-0 after Peyton Krebs deflected in a Tage Thompson shot late in the second period. Ottawa took the third: Shane Pinto tied it on a rebound at 11:33 and Michael Amadio finished a 3-on-2 rush with 3:09 left. Samuel Ersson made 24 saves for Ottawa and Colten Ellis made 28 for Buffalo, and neither team scored on the power play. The card’s premise was a soft Ottawa goaltending matchup; Ersson’s night ran the other way, so both the STRONG Sabres moneyline and the LEAN Over 6.5 were beaten on the merits in a three-goal game.

Panthers 5, Blackhawks 3. Florida jumped to 3-0 on goals from Sandis Vilmanis, Carter Verhaeghe on the power play and Seth Jones. Chicago fought back through Roman Kantserov and two Frank Nazar goals, one short-handed, and it sat 4-3 late after Vilmanis’s second. Sam Reinhart’s empty-net goal at 18:33 of the third made it 5-3, which is the goal that turned the STRONG Panthers -1.5 into a cover. The Panthers moneyline and the LEAN Over 5.5 (eight goals) both cashed. Florida lost defenseman Niko Mikkola to a shot block early in the third; Paul Maurice said he expects him to be fine.

Kings 7, Sharks 2. Adrian Kempe scored a hat trick and added an assist in his first game back after missing one game, Artemi Panarin had four assists and Quinton Byfield scored twice on the power play as Los Angeles led 3-0 after one period. San Jose’s two goals, from Macklin Celebrini and Ivar Stenberg, both came on the power play, but Darcy Kuemper stopped 30 shots. The STRONG Sharks moneyline and the STRONG Under 6.5 lost; nine goals went in, and the consensus was beaten on the merits.

Kraken 2, Flames 1 (OT). Yegor Sharangovich tipped in a Zach Whitecloud shot for Calgary in the first, and Berkly Catton tied it in the second after a Calgary offside challenge had wiped out an earlier Catton goal. Matty Beniers won it on a breakaway 55 seconds into overtime. Joey Daccord made 25 saves and Dustin Wolf made 27. The LEAN Kraken moneyline needed overtime, which counts; the LEAN Under 6.5 was never in doubt at three goals.
