On to the Week 2 grades, class is in session!
Consensus Recap – Week 2
The Consensus performed admirably in Week 2 of the CFB season. A 3.34 score was good for 9th out of the 18 experts that submitted selections.
Overall (Score: 3.34 / Rank 9th out of 18) – Eight of the 38 total plays scored an “A+” grade. With another two “A’s” this week, that puts over a quarter of the Consensus plays scoring “A” or better.
Head of the Class – Week 2
Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 2 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week.
#1) Sporting News (Score: 7.00) sprang on to the scene in Week 2 with a great score. Seven of their nine plays scored an “A” or better including seven “A+” scores. If it weren’t for their one failing grade, they would have blown the roof off. They hauled in “A+” grades from Kyler Murray, Adrian Martinez, Blake Barnett, Jonathan Taylor and Laviska Shenault. They were the lone expert site to roll with the true freshman QB, Adrian Martinez.
#2) Athlon Sports (Score: 5.88) burst on the scene as well as half of their eight plays scored an “A+” grade. Those “A+” scores were from Kylin Hill, Bryan Edwards, Laviska Shenault and Kalija Lipscomb.
#3) RotoGrinders Consensus (Score: 4.27) rounds out the top-3 for the week. Five of their 15 plays scored an “A+” grade. Those scoring “A+” grades were Kyler Murray, D’Eriq King, Jonathan Taylor, Kylin Hill and Laviska Shenault.
Study Time – Week 2
If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 2 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.
- Heavy.com (Score: 1.00) scored one “D” and two failing grades with their three selections.
- Daily Overlay Single Pick (Score: 0.00) struck out with their Mike Weber pick. He wasn’t able to follow up his dominant Week 1.
Extra Credit – Week 2
In this section, I will look to give some extra credit to experts that received an A+ grade for a player where they were the lone expert to recommend. Week 2 extra credit goes to the following:
A+ – Charlie Taumoepeau (TheSportsGeek)
A+ – Ke’Shawn Vaughn (TheDailyAudible)
A+ – Tony Brooks-James (DailyRoto)
A+ – Najee Harris (DailyRoto)
A+ – Adrian Martinez (Sporting News)
Head of the Class – Season
Here are the top experts in the Overall Standings after Week 2 of the season, including which site has provided the top DraftKings points per $1000 of salary. We had a switcharoo at the top as FTA once again provided no picks.
#1) Sporting News (Score: 7.00) tops the list of experts after their first week.
#2) DFS Army (Score: 5.40) sits in a nice spot in 2nd with plenty of season left.
#3) Daily Overlay Single Pick (Score: 5.00) has hit both extremes through two weeks but sits in 3rd place.
#4) RG Consensus (Score: 4.50) sits in 4th place after two weeks. As one of the volume pickers, we’ll see where they trend as the season plays out.
#5) DK Marketplace Projections (Score: 4.24) lays claim to the final top-5 slot.
The DailyOverlay Industry Consensus sits in 10th place in the overall standings out of 20 experts with a DO score of 3.78.
