On to the Week 6 grades, class is in session!
Consensus Recap – Week 7
The Consensus finished in the top half for Week 7. A 2.28 score was lower than last week but still positioned the Consensus in 10th out of the 22 experts that submitted selections.
Overall (Score: 2.28 / Rank 10th out of 22) – Nine of the 54(!!) plays scored an “A” or better for the week including seven “A+” grades. The “A+” scores came from Dwayne Haskins, Jarrett Stidham, Darrell Henderson, Alex Barnes, Collin Johnson, Felton Davis and KJ Hill.
Head of the Class – Week 7
Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 7 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week. Overall for the week the scores were much lower than Week 6.
#1) Sportsline (Score: 4.00) scored an “A+,” a “C” and a failing grade in taking the top spot. The “A+” score came from Darrell Henderson.
#2) DFS Karma (Score: 3.00) made six selections and scored an “A+” with one of those. That “A+” grade was scored by Darrell Henderson, too.
#3) DailyFantasySportsRankings (Score: 2.83) didn’t even have a good week but still managed to pull into 3rd for the week. Last week, this score would have been in the bottom half of experts. One of their six plays scored an “A+” and that also came from Henderson.
Head of the Class – Week 7 (By Position)
Sometimes there is just that one class that you excel in. In this section, I will highlight who the top experts were at each position for Week 7.
QB – RG Lineup Builder (6.00) scored an “A+” from Dwayne Haskins and a “C” from Taylor Cornelius to take the top QB spot.
RB – Sportsline (10.00) played Darrell Henderson as their lone RB play for their perfect score.
WR – DailyRoto (3.33) scored “A” or better with two of their six WR plays. That “A+” score was attained by Felton Davis.
Study Time – Week 7
If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 7 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.
- RG Lineup Builder (Score: 1.50) may have scored well at the QB position but overall they were horrible last week. Six of their eight plays received a failing grade.
- TheSportsGeek (Score: 1.00) picked up failing grades from half of their eight plays. In fact, their highest score of the eight was a “B” grade.
Extra Credit – Week 7
In this section, I will look to give some extra credit to experts that received an A+ grade for a player where they were the lone expert to recommend. Week 7 extra credit goes to the following:
A+ – Brian Lewerke (DailyRoto)
A+ – Kellen Mond (Sporting News)
A+ – Jake Bentley (WiseTake Top Plays)
A+ – Mohamed Ibrahim (WiseTake Top Plays)
Head of the Class – Season
Here are the top experts in the Overall Standings after Week 7 of the season. We still have quite a bit of maneuvering in the top-5 weekly
#1) RG CFB Marketplace Projections (Score: 3.98) retook the lead despite dropping .13 points in overall score.
#2) FantasyLabs (Score: 3.93) took a leap up the leaderboard by staying flat last week.
#3) RG Consensus (Score: 3.90) fell back a couple of spots into 3rd place after dropping .22 points.
#4) DailyOverlay Single Pick (Score: 3.75) hangs on to a top-5 spot after a “C” grade this past week.
#5) Sporting News (Score: 3.54) has a bit of a cushion for the 5th spot. They’ll look to make a move and close the gap on the experts ahead of them.
The DailyOverlay Industry Consensus jumped in to a 13th place tie in the overall standings out of 26 experts with a DO score of 2.93.
