CENTER
Dwight Howard (HOU) $6,900
A match-up with the Orlando Magic is always nice for opposing bigs. There should be plenty of peripheral stats to be had, and Nikola Vucevic is a weak interior defender. If for some reason Dwight doesn’t suit up this game, I would pivot to Brook Lopez at $6,800.
Jahlil Okafor (PHI) $6,100
One of my favorite plays of the night. He’s been averaging more than 16 FGA and 33 minutes per game. Greg Monroe isn’t the sieve he’s made out to be, but he’s not great either. Okafor will spend most of his time in the paint and could rack up a nice rebound total. I’m expecting 20-10 line.
Value Plays: Willie Cauley-Stein $4,600, Festus Ezeli $4,100, Kosta Koufos $4,000
POWER FORWARD
Blake Griffin (LAC) $9,600
Blake has ascended to true superstar status this season, and he’s averaging nearly 49 DK points per game. A lot of players will be scared off by the match-up (Draymond Green), but Griffin actually averaged roughly 47 DK points per game in three contests with Golden State last year.
Greg Monroe (MIL) $8,100
Monroe has been nearly lock-and-load this season. His new team and role suit him perfectly, and he has one of the highest fantasy floors going. He could go for 50 DK points on any given night.
Paul Millsap (ATL) $7,900
Like Monroe, Millsap has an incredibly high floor while maintaining a lofty ceiling. Kyle Korver is out tonight, so that opens up a few more shots for Paul.
Value Plays: (If Derrick Favors is out) Trevor Booker (UTA) $3,000, GPP ONLY: Kristaps Porzingis (NYK) $4,800
SMALL FORWARD
Paul George (IND) $8,000
George is one of the best plays on the board. A match-up with the Celtics offers all sorts of fantasy goodness. The Pacers are a little thin tonight, and I think PG13 is the primary beneficiary in terms of increased opportunity.
Rudy Gay (SAC) $7,600
Up-tempo match-up with the Suns, and DeMarcus Cousins is out. Gay should see some time at the 4 tonight, and that will do wonders for his stat line.
Value Plays: Rodney Hood (UTA) $4,600
SHOOTING GUARD
James Harden (HOU) $10,000
Harden got it going against OKC, and he looks to keep it rolling against Orlando. This situation is similar to Blake v. the Warriors. Oladipo is an elite defender, but Harden had his way with the Magic last season. If you’re going to pay up, this would be a good spot. Ridiculously high ceiling and he might go a little overlooked.
Victor Oladipo (ORL) $7,700
He gets a bit of a tempo boost going against Houston, and more possessions equals more opportunity.
Value Plays: Marcus Thornton (HOU) $3,500
POINT GUARD
Jeff Teague (ATL) $6,500
Teague has been hot lately; he went for 48.5 DK points last time out against the Heat. With Korver out, there should be a few more scoring chances for Teague. I expect him to have a nice game, and the price is more than reasonable.
Jerryd Bayless (MIL) $3,800 & Greivis Vasquez (MIL) $3,400
Michael-Carter Williams is out, so there will be plenty of back court minutes to go around. The 76ers are in town, and that usually bodes well for the opponent. You could even play both.
