What a week from FantasyTeamAdvice on both sides of the coin. They used an absolute monster of a week on the pitcher side of things to vault into 2nd place. In this article, I will give a brief recap of each day we gathered and graded the experts, including how the Industry Consensus picks did, highlighting which experts were at the top for the day and which players were only called out by one expert, but produced an “A+” grade. We will also review the overall standings and highlight the top experts so far this season.
As a reminder, we are currently gathering selections and publishing the MLB Industry Consensus article each weekday during the season, so be sure to check back about an hour or so before the first pitch of the first game to get a look at the consensus picks and sample lineups for the day. As an added bonus in 2017, we will publish the Consensus on weekends when we have a writer available. To begin the 2017 season, we will grade 20 experts that provide pitcher selections and 21 that provide hitter selections daily.
Leaderboard
The top-3 for both pitchers and hitters are below. It was a rough week on the hitter side of things as every expert of significance dropped in DO score. As for the pitcher side, we saw out newcomer, FantasyCPR, fall from the top spot but still remain in the top-3 for the year. Pitchers
#1) DailyFantasySportsRankings (Score: 4.94) dropped back by a small .05 margin this week. What was a large gap last week has closed considerably thanks to a monster week from FTA.
#2) FantasyTeamAdvice (Score: 4.86) destroyed it this week. As you’ll see below, they dominated our daily top-2 this week and used that to catapult into 2nd place with a massive .29 jump.
#3) DailyFantasyNerd (Score: 4.79) stayed flat for the week but dropped a slot. Nothing wrong with staying flat and they now have a solid gap between themselves and RotoGrinders Consensus at #4.
Hitters
#1) RotoGrinders 6-Pack (Score: 3.17) bumped his score a minute .02 for the week and maintains his stranglehold on the top of the leaderboard.
#2) FantasyTeamAdvice (Score: 2.99) had a similar week on the hitter side as they jumped up .07 to close the gap. Can they hop over the 3.0 threshold? With another week like last they will definitely do it.
#3) Daily Overlay – On the Hill (Score: 2.92) had another nice week to round out the top-3 leaderboard. Brad jumped up .01 but maintains a nice cushion between himself and DFSR at #4.
