It was a solid week for the home team here at Daily Ovelay. Stephen’s Value Index and Brad’s Hot Sheet came in 2nd and 3rd, respectively, for Week 11. On to the Week 11 grades, class is in session!
Consensus Recap – Week 11
The Consensus saw its volume of picks drop back a bit in Week 11. Forty-five total picks for a 16th place finish and a decent Daily Overlay score of 3.00. Nineteen of those picks finished with a failing grade while we had ten “A+” scores. A position-by-position breakdown is below.
QB (Score: 2.71 / Rank 14th out of 21) – The Consensus was hurt by failing grades from Alex Smith, Jay Cutler and Blake Bortles.
RB (Score: 3.67 / Rank T-5th out of 21) – A nice bounceback week at the RB spot after an awful Week 10. Three “A+” scores from Mark Ingram, Duke Johnson and LeSean McCoy helped lead the charge.
WR (Score: 2.14 / Rank 8th out of 21) – The score was lower this week but the positional finish much higher. The lone “A+” standout was Brandin Cooks.
TE (Score: 2.88 / Rank 16th out of 21) – Five of the eight plays finished with failing grades; however, Travis Kelce and Tyler Kroft’s “A+” grades helped salvage something.
D/ST (Score: 4.29 / Rank 18th out of 20) – A nice score but a bad finish. The experts really hit the D/ST out of the park in Week 11. “A+” grades from the Jags, Chargers and Ravens did the damage.
Head of the Class – Week 11
Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 11 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week.
#1) DailyFantasySportsRankings (Score: 4.50) topped the list in Week 11 as five of their 14 plays scored an “A+” grade. Those perfect scores were from Tom Brady, Mark Ingram, Travis Kelce, Jags D/ST and Chargers D/ST.
#2) Daily Overlay – Hot Sheet (Score: 4.17) crushed in Week 11. Brad saw nine of his 24 plays score “A+” grades. Those receiving high marks were Brady, Ingram, McCoy, Cooks, Kelce, Kroft, Marcedes Lewis, the Jags and the Chargers.
#3) Daily Overlay – Value Index (Score: 4.14) makes a clean sweep for the home team in the top-3 for Week 11. Three of Stephen’s eight plays scored an “A+” grade. Those picks were Tyler Kroft, Duke Johnson and the Browns D/ST. He was the lone expert to play the Browns D/ST.
Top Value – ProFootballFocus (2.91 DK Pts/$1000) took the “Top Value” title this week.
Head of the Class – Week 11 (By Position)
Sometimes there is just that one class that you excel in. In this section, I will highlight who the top experts were at each position for Week 11.
QB – Rotowire, RotoGrinders Lineup Builder (10.00) both utilized Tom Brady to find perfect 10.00 scores.
RB – FantasyCPR (5.50) played two NE running backs on way to 1st place. He received an “A+” from Dion Lewis and a “D” from Rex Burkhead. They were the lone expert site to play Dion Lewis.
WR – FantasyGuruElite (3.33) scored a “B” or better with half of their six plays including an “A+” from Brandin Cooks.
TE – Daily Overlay – Value Index, GoingFor2 (10.00) both received “A+’s” with their lone plays. Stephen used Tyler Kroft and GoingFor2 played Travis Kelce.
DST – Eight Tied (10.00) with perfect scores. All only played one D/ST with the exception of DailyFantasyCafe who nailed three perfect scores so a special shoutout to them.
Study Time – Week 11
If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 11 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.
- DailyFantasyNerd (Score: 2.44) scored a “D” or lower with five of their nine plays. The optimizer didn’t work out very well in Week 11.
- GoingFor2 (Score: 2.14) makes a very rare appearance in the bottom-2. Five of their seven plays finished with a “D” or lower.
Extra Credit – Week 11
In this section, I will look to give some extra credit to experts that received an A+ grade for a player where they were the lone expert to recommend. Week 11 extra credit goes to the following:

Head of the Class – Season
Here are the top experts in the Overall Standings after Week 11 of the season, including which site has provided the top DraftKings points per $1000 of salary. We had a slight shakeup at the top this week.
#1) Rotowire (Score: 4.00) maintains a very comfortable lead in the standings even with a .08 drop in score for Week 11.
#2) FantasyTeamAdvice (Score: 3.69) stayed basically flat with a small .01 increase but put a little extra cushion between themselves and the #3 slot.
#3) RotoGrinders Lineup Builder (Score: 3.60) holds steady in the #3 spot with a small loss of .03 in score for the week.
#4) Daily Overlay – Value Index (Score: 3.51) jumps back into the top-5 after a solid Week 11. Stephen saw his score jump .07.
#5) ProFootballFocus (Score: 3.50) is hanging on to the final top-5 spot. They’ll need to keep trucking along as there are several experts nipping at their heels.
Top Value – DK Playbook (2.90 DK Pts/$1000)
The DailyOverlay Industry Consensus fell back a spot to 16th place in the overall standings out of 21 experts.
