Week 5 was a good week for the Consensus Cash picks except for WR where you needed to dip down into the GPP considerations to find the better plays. The Overall Leaderboard also gets a little bit of a shakeup with a tie for the top spot between FantasyTeamAdvice and GoingFor2. Meanwhile, the top DFS expert for Week 5 was the Sportsline optimizer which also pushed it into the Top 5 in the overall standings. There were also a few strong off the radar picks that were only selected by one expert and paid big dividends if you rostered them.

Consensus Recap – Week 5
The Industry Consensus picks finished in the Top 10 this week with a 9th place finish out of 24 experts graded.
QB (Score: 3.75 / Rank 10th out of 24) – There were a couple of good options at QB with an “A+” from Blake Bortles and a “B” out of Ben Roethlisberger.
RB (Score: 6.33 / Rank 6th out of 24) – The Consensus Cash game RBs produced three “A+” options including the top recommended RB, T.J. Yeldon along with Todd Gurley and James Conner. All recommended RBs finished in the Top 10 in DK scoring at the position for the week.
WR (Score: 2.00 / Rank 21st out of 24) – The WR position was tough on the Consensus this week with only two strong options with an “A+” from Antonio Brown and an “A” from Adam Thielen.
TE (Score: 3.75 / Rank 10th out of 24) – There were two studs (Zach Ertz and Jimmy Graham) on the TE list and two duds (Vance McDonald and Jared Cook).
D/ST (Score: 4.25 / Rank 10th out of 21) – It was a good week to go cheap at D/ST with low priced options of the Ravens and Bengals pulling in an “A” and “A+” grade respectively.

Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 5 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week.
#1) Sportsline (Score: 4.89) had a strong week with six out of their nine selections receiving a “B” or better including Aaron Rodgers, Todd Gurley and Demaryius Thomas.
#2) RotoGrinders Consensus (Score: 4.77) produced 16 out of 26 players with a “B” or better including nine “A+” grades which included Blake Bortles, T.J. Yeldon, James Conner, Davante Adams, Zach Ertz and the Bengals D/ST.
#3) FantasyLabs (Score: 4.48) had eight “A+” players out of their 21 recommendations led by Aaron Rodgers, James Conner, Antonio Brown, Zach Ertz and Austin Hooper.

QB – Sportsline (10.00) rode Aaron Rodgers to a perfect 10.
RB – DFSArmy (7.67) got two “A+” grades from T.J. Yeldon and Todd Gurley along with a “B” from David Johnson.
WR – ProFootballFocus and Sportsline (5.00) with PFF hitting on Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jr., while Sportline cashed in with Demaryius Thomas and Cooper Kupp.
TE – Rotoball (10.00) got an “A+” from their lone selection of Austin Hooper.
DST – DraftKings Playbook – Value Picks (10.00) hit on two Top 5 D/ST with the Bengals and the Browns.
Study Time – Week 5
If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 5 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.
