With the NBA season in its infancy, there are not a lot of stats to put too much emphasis on yet. So, while I am going to show the first Hot Sheet matrix for the season, don’t go overboard rostering all the “hot” spots at this point since there will be a lot of variance in those numbers at this point. Early in the season, I will admit, I do chase the box score a little bit then I normally do to look for those players who are consistently outperforming their salary in the early going.
The grid below is a snapshot of today’s slate that shows the overall rating for each position for each team. The numbers highlighted in red are in the top 25% of their position for the slate and indicate good plays. Meanwhile, the numbers highlighted in blue are the positions that are in the bottom 25% of their respective position for the slate and are positions to avoid.
