Week 5 Hot Sheet
Top Plays
QB
- Josh Allen (BUF) – Look for Allen to put on the Superman cape this week against the Texans both passing and running. Both teams can put up points on offense which should lead the a shootout. Allen can be used as a standalone option at QB without one of his pass catchers.
- Jordan Love (GB) – Love was a little rusty in the first half last week but bounced back to throw for almost 400 yards and four touchdowns last week. Love and the Packers should build on that success against the Rams pass defense which has allowed 9.14 YPA (32nd) and 2.0 TD passes (28th) per game this season.
- Joe Flacco (IND) – Flacco put up 168 yards and two touchdowns in relief of Anthony Richardson last week. If Richardson is out on Sunday, Flacco is a good, cheap option to save salary at QB. He would face a Jaguars pass defense that has allowed 284 yards (31st) and 1.8 TD passes (26th) per game this season.
RB
- Derrick Henry (BAL) – The big dog has found his groove with the Ravens piling up 350 rushing yards and scoring four times during the last two weeks. He gets another good matchup this week against the Bengals who have allowed 114 rushing yards (24th) and 1.0 TDs (23rd) per game to RBs this season.
- Jordan Mason (SF) – Mason has at least 20 touches in every game this season and should continue that trend in a favorable matchup at home against the Cardinals as a touchdown favorite. The Cardinals have surrendered 125 rushing yards (30th) and 1.3 TDs (27th) per game to RBs this season.
- Josh Jacobs (GB) – Jacobs remarkably hasn’t found the end zone yet this season, but that should change this week against the Rams who have allowed 1.3 TDs (27th) per game to RBs this season. Add in giving up 131 rushing yards (32nd) on 4.81 YPC (25th) and it could be a big day for Jacobs.
- Antonio Gibson (NE) – With Rhamondre Stevenson getting moved out of the starting lineup the door is open for Gibson to see increased volume both on the ground and through the air. He’ll face a Dolphins defense that has allowed 113 rushing yards (23rd) and 1.8 TDs (32nd) per game on the ground to RBs this season.
- Tyrone Tracy (NYG) – With Devin Singletary out this week, Tracy should see the majority of the work in the Giants backfield. He gets a decent matchup against the Seahawks who have allowed 105 rushing yards (22nd) and 1.0 TDs (23rd) per game to RBs this season.
WR
- Stefon Diggs (HOU) – This is not a “revenge game” recommendation. Diggs has a great game environment with a tight line and a big Vegas total against the Bills. He has at least nine targets in each of the last two games and the best individual matchup working out of the slot against the Bills secondary.
- Diontae Johnson (CAR) – The matchup against the Bears’ secondary isn’t great on paper but if Johnson is going to continue to get 13+ targets per game his salary is still too low regardless of the matchup.
- Tee Higgins (CIN) – Higgins has more targets than Ja’Mar Chase over the last two weeks and should get less attention than Chase from the Ravens secondary. In a matchup with the highest Vegas total on the slate and the Bengals as a small home underdog, look for a lot of pass attempts against the Ravens’ pass-funnel defense.
- Jerry Jeudy (CLE) – Jeudy has at least six targets in every game this season. He will face a Commanders secondary that has allowed 14 receptions (27th) for 176 yards (27th) and 2.5 TDs (32nd) per game to WRs this season. Jeudy has a better individual matchup according to PFF than Amari Cooper this week.
- Josh Downs (IND) – Make sure Flacco is playing before considering Downs or Michael Pittman. If Flacco does start both are viable options against the Jaguars secondary that has allowed 15.3 receptions (30th) for 194 yards (30th) per game to WRs this season. Add in Jonathan Taylor being out for the running game and the Colts’ pass attempts should increase.
- Dontayvion Wicks / Bo Melton (GB) – With Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs both likely out this week, there will be plenty of targets up for grabs for Wicks and Melton. They also get a favorable matchup against the Rams secondary that has allowed 14.8 YPC (31st) and 1.8 TDs (30th) per game to WRs this season.
- Tutu Atwell (LAR) – With the Rams receiving corps still ailing, Atwell has at least 82 yards in each of the last two games. I prefer him over Jordan Whittington due to Atwell’s big play ability against a Packers secondary that could be down two cornerbacks including Jaire Alexander again this week.
TE
- Brock Bowers (LV) – With Davante Adams and Zamir White out for the Raiders, Bowers is one of the only offensive weapons they have this week against the Broncos. The Broncos have allowed 5.3 receptions (25th) per game to TEs this season.
- Tucker Kraft (GB) – Kraft is the alpha TE for the Packers and could see a bump up in targets with injuries in the Packers receiving corps. He draws a favorable matchup against the Rams who have allowed 4.3 receptions (16th) for 52 yards (26th) per game to TEs this season.
- Erick All (CIN) – All has exactly four receptions on four targets in each of the last three games as he has started to play more. He is cheap and gets a favorable matchup against the Ravens who have allowed 7.3 receptions (30th) for 82 yards (31st) per game to TEs this season.
