NFL – Week 2 Showdown (Thursday) – NYG v WAS
NFL DFS Showdown – Week 2 (Thursday) – NYG v WAS
The Week 2 matchup on Thursday night couldn’t be more different than last Thursday night’s matchup between the Cowboys and Buccaneers with the Giants facing Washington tonight. Last week was offense and excitement, this week will likely be defense and punts. So, which players can squeeze out some fantasy production to put in our Showdown lineups?

Captain
- Antonio Gibson – Gibson will be a very popular choice in the Captain spot and I will succumb to the chalk in my Cash lineup. Gibson had 23 touches last week for 108 yards. Meanwhile, the Giants rush defense allowed 146 rushing yards (31st) on 5.84 YPC (32nd) to the Broncos and currently rank 26th DVOA against the run after one week.
Cash Core
- Washington D/ST – The Washington defense is in a favorable spot playing at home as a favorite against a less than 100% Saquon Barkley and mistake-prone Daniel Jones. The Gaints allowed 2.9 sacks (6th) and 1.4 turnovers (7th) per game last season and gave up a pair of sacks and turnovers in Week 1.
- Taylor Heinicke – Heinicke will replace the injured Ryan Fitzpatrick. He will likely be handing the ball off to Gibson a lot, but he should still be one of the top raw point scorers in the game against a league-average Giants pass defense.
- Daniel Jones – I’m completely out on the Giants running game in this matchup so any offensive production for the Giants will likely come through Jones. Also, consider plugging in one of the Giants WRs.
GPP
Terry McLaurin didn’t find his way into my Cash lineup, so he will be my pivot in the Captain spot in single-entry GPP lineups as other than Gibson, he likely has the highest upside of any player in this game. Pair him with Heinicke and one more pass-catcher such as a cheap Dyami Brown. Continue the Washington onslaught lineup with Gibson and the Washington DST and round out your lineup with your favorite Giants WR.
Best Bet
Washington -3.5
