NFL DFS Showdown – Week 5 (Thursday) – IND v DEN
Both running back rooms in this Thursday’s matchup between the Colts and the Broncos are up in the air with Jonathan Taylor and Javonte Williams out. Let’s take a look at how to attack those situations in Cash and single-entry GPP lineups.

Indianapolis Colts @ Denver Broncos
Team | QB | RB | Left | Slot | Right | TE | D | K | Vegas |
Indianapolis Colts | 41 | 45 | 28 | 25 | 39 | 62 | 38 | 47 | 41.5 |
Denver Broncos | 53 | 44 | 34 | 55 | 43 | 64 | 56 | 52 | -3.5 |
Captain
- Russell Wilson – With so many question marks around both teams’ running game this week, I’m going to use a QB in the captain spot in Cash games. Wilson has the better projection while playing at home against the Colts’ 27th DVOA-ranked pass defense.
Cash Core
- Matt Ryan – With no Jonathan Taylor and with the Colts potentially playing catchup in this game, Ryan should provide a high floor with a high number of pass attempts even while facing a good pass defense.
- Melvin Gordon – With Javonte Williams out, Gordon figures to get the bulk of the running back touches. Save GPP lineups for chasing Mike Boone or Latavius Murray and stick with Gordon in Cash lineups. He should get around 20 touches.
- Jerry Jeudy – When choosing a Broncos pass catcher, I prefer Jeudy in this matchup. He works mostly out of the slot which is the best way to attack the Colts’ secondary.
GPP
As you can see from my Best Bet below, I do think this will be a low-scoring game. As such, I’m willing to roll with the Broncos DST in the Captain spot but then still bring it back with pieces of the Colts passing game including Matt Ryan, and a couple of pieces of the passing game which could include Nyheim Hines. Finish it off with one of the Broncos’ running backs and one of their top two wide receivers.
Best Bet
Colts/Broncos U41.5
