XFL DFS Expert Recap and Grading – Week 1
Top XFL DFS Experts – Week 1
It was a fun start to the new XFL and DFS with solid football and innovative entertainment value. The initial grading of the DFS analysts saw FantasyLabs take the top spot, followed by ProFootballFocus, and SportsGamblingPodcast.
Our Cash Consensus picks performed well finishing in 8th place out of 24 experts graded in Week 1. Now that we have a week in the books, I expect much better analysis going forward.
On to the Week 1 grades, class is in session!
Consensus Recap – Week 1 – Cash options
The Industry Consensus Cash picks finished in the top third with an 8th place finish out of 24 experts graded.
QB (Score: 4.33 / Rank 10th out of 21) – QB list included two of the top three scorers at the position
RB (Score: 1.40 / Rank 13th out of 22) – only De’Veon Smith (A) had a grade above a “D” on the list
WR (Score: 3.11 / Rank 7th out of 24) – included strong options with Nelson Spruce, Kahlil Lewis, and Rashad Ross
D/ST (Score: 5.00 / Rank 2nd out of 16) – delivered the 2nd best D/ST (Defenders)
Consensus Recap – Week 1 – GPP options
The Industry Consensus GPP picks finished this week with a 16th place finish out of 24 experts graded.
QB (Score: 2.67 / Rank 17th out of 21) – included the #2 QB Charles Kanoff
RB (Score: 1.83 / Rank 9th out of 22) – provided a few good options for the position with Kenneth Farrow, Nick Holley, and Darius Victor
WR (Score: 2.89 / Rank 9th out of 24) – featured two “A+” value options with Dan Williams and Jordan Smallwood but not much else
D/ST (Score: 2.00 / Rank 9th out of 16) – had decent options but neither of the top two D/ST plays
Head of the Class – Week 1
Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 1 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week.
#1) FantasyLabs (Score: 4.40) provided six picks with a grade of “B” or better out of 10 selections
#2) ProFootballFocus (Score: 3.88) produced four recommendations that graded a “B” or better out of eight picks
#3) SportsGamblingPodcast (Score: 3.60) three of their five picks resulted in a “B” or better

Sometimes there is just that one class that you excel in. In this section, I will highlight who the top experts were at each position for Week 1.
QB – DraftKings Playbook / FanSided / RotoGrinders Lineup Builder (10.00) all had Phillip Walker as their only QB selection
RB – ProFootballFocus (5.33) was the only expert to recommend the top-scoring RB Trey Williams
WR – AthlonSports (5.50) was lead by the pick of Nelson Spruce
DST – DFSArmy (5.33) was the only expert to recommend the top-scoring Guardians D/ST
Extra Credit – Week 1
