We’re now through a couple weeks of CFB action. We continue to compile picks from 26 experts across the industry. If we’re missing someone, let us know and we’ll look into adding them. If you want to submit your picks, contact us a management@dailyoverlay.com. We will continue to look at the sizes of slates on Saturdays to determine which ones we will cover. So far, it’s pretty clear that DK is putting an emphasis on the 11am and 2:30pm CT kickoffs. If that changes, we’ll alter our approach here.

As a reminder, most of our CFB content will be part of our premium membership. Now is a great time to sign up for our premium content so you are all set for the football, CFB and NFL, season! Our premium membership will get you access to all of our content!

Be sure to come back each week for a review of the Industry Consensus picks highlighting the top (and bottom) grades for the week and season from the experts we are tracking.

On to the Week 2 grades, class is in session!

Consensus Recap – Week 2

The Consensus stayed consistent with last week. A 2.86 score positioned the Consensus in 17th out of the 24 experts that submitted selections.

Week 2 (Score: 2.86 / Rank 17th out of 24) – Eight of the 36 plays to start the season scored “A” or better. That included six “A+” grades.

Head of the Class – Week 2

Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 2 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week. Overall, the scores were a bit lower than the previous week.

#1) DailyFantasyInsider (Score: 10.00) used JD Spielman to top the list of experts and pick up an “A+” with their only play.

#2) Sports Gambling Podcast (Score: 7.00) made a solid debut with two of their three plays scoring an “A+” grade.

#3) Awesomo (Score: 6.00) is not just the robot from South Park but is our 3rd place expert for Week 2. Four of their six plays scored “A” or better including three “A+” scores.

Head of the Class – Week 2 (By Position)

Sometimes there is just that one class that you excel in. In this section, I will highlight who the top experts were at each position for Week 2.

QB – Fansided, Athlon Sports (10.00) both played Adrian Martinez to pick up “A+” scores with their lone QB selections.

RB – Rotoworld (5.00) scored an “A+” with Maurice Washington and a failing grade with Reggie Corbin on Saturday but that was enough to top the list.

WR – Awesomo, DailyFantasyInsider, Sports Gambling Podcast (10.00) all had perfect weeks. Awesomo was the lone of the group to make more than one WR selection.

Study Time – Week 2

If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 2 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.

  • NumberFire (Score: 1.00) struggled with a “C” and a failing grade.
  • Daily Overlay Single Pick (Score: 0.00) suffered from the Reggie Corbin absence and finished with a failing grade.

Extra Credit – Week 2

In this section, I will look to give some extra credit to experts that received an A+ grade for a player where they were the lone expert to recommend. Week 2 extra credit goes to the following:

A+ – Anthony McFarland Jr. (FullTimeFantasy)
A+ – KD Nixon (FullTimeFantasy)
