Happy Friday everyone!

It’s the end of the week and for this guy, it’s also the end of the school year.

Rejoice!

Summer break is upon on and my focus can really start to get back to sports and DFS for the next few months.

That focus will definitely shift more to football as we hit end of July and August.

But it’s still early in the 2019 baseball season and the calendar is about to turn to June, meaning things will be heating up.

Most specifically, the weather will be heating up. Meaning we could see lots more runs and home runs moving forward.

It’s already warm/hot, too, but it’s only going to go up from here in the southern states for sure. I am definitely not ready for the Texas heat myself.

But we are on a little heater here on the Value Index, and I would like to continue some success today for a huge bonanza of a slate we have for Friday night.

It’s 14 games. We have some big time stud pitchers and a game at Coors. You are going to have to get clever tonight.

With that said, let’s get it on!

PITCHERS

Trent Thornton – vs. San Diego Padres – $7,100

Analysis: We have some decisions to make at pitcher today with some big totals on the board. But we have a couple of mid-tier guys here that could pay off big and stuff our lineups. Thornton is one of those guys, playing at home and against a team (Padres) that is 28th in team wOBA against righties and strikes out 24.9% clip. Thornton has been able to limit the damage against both sides of the plate pretty well. He’s striking out opponents at a 9.64 K/9 from the left side of the plate and 8.57 K/9 to the right side.

Joey Lucchesi – at Toronto Blue Jays – $7,000

Analysis: On the other side of the plate we have Lucchesi, who draws a Toronto team that is starting to roll out the young guns of late. Tonight they are expected to call up Cavan Biggio, the son of Craig Biggio. Vlad Jr. is already on the team, and Bo Bichette is waiting on deck. But either way, the Blue Jays currently are 25th in wOBA to lefties and a porous .133 ISO while striking out 24.5% of the time. Quality start and a win is possible.
