The NFL season is rolling along now with two weeks in the books. We have added season-to-date standing into the mix now along with the first cut of ownership percentages. We have also added a few new sites to our list of experts this week including a couple lineup optimizers from DailyFantasyNerd and RotoGrinders. If you are interested in getting your picks graded be sure to inquire by sending an email to management@dailyoverlay.com.
Week 2 saw a lot of injuries across the NFL cutting short fantasy production for some big names and allowing other players to emerge who we will likely see on the Week 3 Consensus list.
Be sure to come back each week for a review of the Industry Consensus picks highlighting the top (and bottom) grades for the week and season from the experts we are tracking. For Week 2 we tracked and graded 24 sets of experts picks including the Industry Consensus list. You can view all expert’s overall rankings on the Expert Grading page.
On to the Week 2 grades, class is in session!
Consensus Recap – Week 2
The Industry Consensus picks had a good week finishing in 9th place overall out of 24 experts graded this week.
This week the consensus list was solid across the board at all positions finishing in the top 10 among our experts at three different positions including QB, WR and Defense where the picks ranked 5th.
At quarterback, the consensus picks included strong plays of Cam Newton, Philip Rivers and Carson Palmer. The running back position didn’t fare as well but had solid picks at the top of the list with C.J. Anderson, DeAngelo Williams and LeGarrette Blount. Wide Receiver is a difficult position with so many good scores each week but the Consensus list did have four of the top six scores at the position with Kelvin Benjamin, Travis Benjamin, DeAndre Hopkins and Jarvis Landry. Delanie Walker was the most selected tight end and he didn’t disappoint this week. And finally, the defense position shined with two of the top performers of the week with the Broncos and Panthers.
Head of the Class – Week 2
Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 2 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week.

Study Time – Week 2
If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 2 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.
- Rotowire (Score: 1.33) received five “F” grades out of their nine selections including players Danny Woodhead, A.J. Green, Tajae Sharpe, Chris Hogan and Gary Barnidge
- FantasyPros (Score: 1.81) had half of their 26 selection result in an “F” grade, some of the players that let them down were Jameis Winston, Jeremy Kerley and Antonio Brown.
Extra Credit – Week 2
In this section, I will look to give some extra credit to experts that received an A+ grade for a player that they recommended when very few other experts did. Week 1 extra credit goes to the following…
A+ – Matt Ryan (ESPN – Love/Hate)
A+ – Isaiah Crowell (Moxyball – Cheatsheets)
A+ – Dennis Pita (DailyRoto)
A+ – Clive Walford (ESPN – Love/Hate)

Ownership Percentages by Position
Now that we are two weeks into the season I will start to publish the ownership percentages by position for both Cash and GPP contests. It is early in the season so there are still plenty of “gaps” in the grids but you can start to see the level of ownership expected given the total number of experts that select a given player. I will update this section each week and we will start to include projected ownership percentages in our Weekly Consensus article.
