Another week of the NFL season has come and gone and things are starting to heat up in the DFS Industry Expert Overall Standings as DailyFantasyNerd had a down week bringing them within reach of a few other sites for top honors. Also, this week saw a few new faces on the top of the weekly leaderboard with DailyFantasySportsRankings leading the way. We’ll see which experts can make a strong second half push up the standings.

Be sure to come back each week for a review of the Industry Consensus picks highlighting the top (and bottom) grades for the week and season from the experts we are tracking. For Week 9 we tracked and graded 21 sets of experts picks including the Industry Consensus list. You can view all expert’s overall rankings on the NFL Expert Grading page.

On to the Week 9 grades, class is in session!

Consensus Recap – Week 9

The Industry Consensus picks had a down week overall finishing in 14th place out of 21 experts graded.

QB (Score: 4.33 / Rank 8th out of 21) – The Consensus list was strong at the QB position this week including listing all of the top 5 plays at the position for the week, Marcus Mariota, Drew Brees, Colin Kaepernick, Aaron Rodgers and Dak Prescott.

RB (Score: 3.09 / Rank 5th out of 21) – Running back was a tough position for the experts overall, but the Consensus list was strong with five players receiving a grade of “B” or better including Ezekiel Elliott, Melvin Gordon, Jay Ajayi, Mark Ingram and Tim Hightower.

WR (Score: 2.20 / Rank 14th out of 21) – Wide receiver is where things started to go bad for the Consensus list with only one “A+” grade coming from Michael Thomas, at least he was one of the most recommended picks.

TE (Score: 2.33 / Rank 16th out of 21) – Just like WR, if you stuck with the most recommended player, Antonio Gates, you were okay. Otherwise, the rest of the tight ends on the Consensus list came up short.

D/ST (Score: 2.00 / Rank 13th out of 21) – Only three defensive plays on the Consensus this week with a solid “A” grade from the chalk play, the Chiefs.

Study Time – Week 9

If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 9 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.

  • Rotoballer (Score: 1.78) had a rough week with seven out of nine selections receiving a grade of “D” or “F” this week. They were let down by players such as Emmanuel Sanders, Allen Hurns, Corey Coleman and Rashad Jennings.
  • SportsBlog (Score: 2.07) had a poor week with 16 out of 29 selections receiving a grade of “D” or “F” including disappointing performances from Devontae Booker, Jarvis Landry, Randall Cobb, Gary Barnidge and Kyle Rudolph.

Extra Credit – Week 9

In this section, I will look to give some extra credit to experts that received an A+ or A grade for a player that they recommended when very few other experts did. Week 9 extra credit goes to the following…

A+ – Rishard Matthews (DailyRoto)
