It was a new week, but a familiar result. A Web.com graduate (with a really cool name) won the tournament; edging out Kevin Na and Jason Bohn. This time, it was Smylie Kaufman, who has come out of the gate swinging with back-to-back top-10s to start the 2015-16 season, taking home the oversized check. It was also the second week in a row where Kaufman was on the $3 GPP-winning roster. If you haven’t been using the supreme value these Web.com guys offer in the wraparound season, you need to get on board while there’s still time. Patton Kizzire (who I recommended) was a Saturday triple bogey away from winning the tournament, and Brett Stegmaier also finished T-2.

It was a rough week all-around. The Consensus was not exempt. It did a fairly good job of hitting on the popular, higher-priced options, but Schniederjans was the only thing even remotely resembling a value pick that paid off.

I’m going to split top honors. Brentley Romine of golfweek.com hit on Smylie Kaufman (only expert in the pool to make that pick) and had the highest composite score of the week. He was clearly the best of the experts who make a smaller number of picks. In terms of the volume guys, oreojenkins of dailyoverlay.com had the best week (hey, that’s me!). I made 22 picks, three finished T-2, nine finished T-16 or better, 11 finished T-25 or better, and 17 16 made the cut (Ben Crane would have been playing the weekend, if he hadn’t self-DQed).
