It is an interesting night to play around with different lineup combinations with so many high-priced Ace pitching options and good hitting situations. Tonight Matt and I are swapping sites to construct lineups since Matt is currently in Texas where FanDuel cannot be played. So I have published a couple FanDuel lineups while Matt has produced a couple DraftKings lineups. Meanwhile, Stephen will provide the FantasyDraft lineups again and look to make it three straight cashes with his 50/50 lineup.
Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:
- We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
- For Cash games, we will build the core of our lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in and will be allowed to choose 1 player that is not on the Consensus list that we consider to be a good play.
- For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
- We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.
As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.

Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – i wanted Kershaw tonight so I had to be thrifty with my hitters. I still feel like I got some solid bats all hitting near the top of the lineup. I swapped Bourn in for Consensus play Brandon Drury who is not in the starting lineup and went with one cheap off the board play with Alcides Escobar batting second tonight.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – Went with two full 4-man stacks for my GPP lineup tonight stacking up the D’Backs using three consensus plays plus Yasmany Tomas against a lefty and the Yankees using two consensus plays plus Gregorious and Gardner. Pivoted off of Beltran to the slightly cheaper Gardner so that I could get Harvey as a boom or bust option tonight.

Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – There are so many GD ways to go about tonight’s slate, that if it weren’t for this construction article, I’d swap this lineup a thousand times (already got 40 tries or so in). Anyway, it doesn’t like much of a cash lineup, but there’s no way I could use the Expert Consensus and pick two of my favorite pitchers – McCullers, Kershaw, Strasburg – and have a lineup full of bats I like. Ezequiel Carrera plays the “injury/sub/scratch” fiddle for Jose Bautista. The rest give me exposure to all the big games. Also, I had four catchers in this lineup initially, but then I saw how ridiculously priced Chris Davis is on FantasyDraft and now he’s in both lineups.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – Three players in Coors, including the reverse-splits matchup between Arenado and Story vs. Cashner, of which I highlighted in today’s rendition of BvP for MVP if you haven’t checked that out yet. Anyway, I am not going off the board tonight in either lineup. Matt Harvey scares me to death, but if he is back to form, he’s a great play against the RH-heavy Brewers who strikeout for miles. The Yankees, well, you know Mike Pelfrey sucks. Oh, forgot to mention Sonny Gray above. If he’s back, and even if he struggles a bit, his price is way too cheap here too. I would like to point out that McCullers is my favorite pitcher play of the day and I am going to use him a lot tonight. I do hate that I don’t have any D-Backs or Marlins in this game, but hopefully that won’t come back to bite me. Good luck all!
