Matt (FanDuel) and I (DraftKings) were both able to produce strong Cash game lineups last night both easily finishing in the money. Our GPP lineups have not fared as well recently, so tonight I am going against our “rules” to try to break out of a GPP slump on DraftKings.
Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:
- We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
- For Cash games, we will build the core of our lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in and will be allowed to choose 1 player that is not on the Consensus list that we consider to be a good play.
- For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
- We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.
As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.

Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – Playing a starting pitcher against the O’s always seems riskier than it should be, IMO. I think Darvish is ready to bust out in a very large way. Trea Turner has turned into the DFS darling…and why the heck not. He gets on base, steals bags and scores runs. I like Beltran in his first game in a new uniform. Veterans like him seem to get rejuvenated in a playoff race and he’s smack dab in the middle of one now. My only off the board play is David Peralta, who seems a bit underpriced even though he just came off the DL.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – Wainwright doesn’t exactly light up the strikeout category anymore; however, he’s starting to round into his old form. A hanging curveball to Yoenis Cespedes his last time out doomed what was a terrific start. I’m weary of playing pitchers in the bandbox known as Great American Ballpark but the Bruce-less Reds shouldn’t put up much of a fight. Stacks of Dodgers that I’m hoping are underowned due to Jon Gray being the opposing pitcher. Short stacks of Rangers (Beltran, Profar) and Giants (Panik, Crawford) to go with Bandy at the catcher position.

Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – Started out my lineup with two strong value options at pitcher with Cole and Price. On the hitting side, there was enough solid value options on the Consensus today to complete my lineup while getting some exposure to Coors Field and Chase Field tonight.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – I am going against our Lineup Construction “rules” tonight for my GPP lineup. It has been too long of a dry spell so I am going to shake it up. I am going with a full Tigers stack which includes just 1 play from the Consensus list (Victor Martinez). The Tigers have the second highest Vegas implied run total, yet only two Tigers made the Consensus list (and both only qualify at 1B on DK). I then grabbed my two favorite GPP options at pitcher pairing up Fernandez and Shoemaker. Then I looked for a three-player stack to fill C/3B/SS and the White Sox fit the price and criteria and rank pretty well in my personal research. So there you have it only using two players from the Consensus list for my GPP lineup.

Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – The Monahan household has been experiencing a lot of 8-month-old sleep issues the past few days, so my DFS brain is fried. Quickly, I am going with Luis Perdomo (because everyone seems like him and he’s almost bare minimum) and deGrom, who is one of my favorite pitchers on the slate. Coors is the theme for my bats along with a couple of Natties.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – I wanted to throw the whole Rangers lineup in, but I didn’t want to stray from the rules as I seem to do sometimes (and that gets me in trouble). So I used Reddick and Beltran, their first games in another uniform, to hopefully catch that eagerness to perform well in your first game with a new team. I wanted to throw in Lucroy, but he was expensive (which means you should play him because I didn’t). Altherr is another punt off-the-board play for me along with Mazara (oops, I played 3 OTB plays after all…)
