Today is my birthday, so I think it seems right that all my pitcher and stack recommendations perform great and my DFS lineups win all the monies on this 15-game Friday night slate. Sound good? Great! Since it is my birthday I am feeling generous so I will give away my Ace pitching selection and analysis for free. However, if you want to get a piece of the birthday mojo then be sure to sign up for our premium content to read the entire “On the Hill” article including a gut call for my Contrarian stack of the day.
We will provide one piece of free content each weekday during the MLB season. This On the Hill article will be free on Mondays and Tuesdays but will be part of the premium content the rest of the week. Let’s mow down the competition 3 Up and 3 Down…
3 Up
Ace
Alex Wood (FD-$9,500 / DK-$9,600)
Wood only throws about 90 pitches per start but that should be enough to handle the Rockies’ offense on the road. The Rockies only have a 6.5% walk rate versus lefties this season so Wood should be able to pitch deeper into the game even with only 90 pitches. The Rockies also have the 9th highest strikeout rate (23.7%) against southpaws and Wood comes in as a big home favorite. I have Wood and Chris Archer very close and would consider Archer over Wood on FanDuel where they are more closely priced. However, on DraftKings where Wood is almost $3,000 cheaper, he is the better option for Cash games. Both are worth consideration in GPPs on any site.
