Happy New Year! Whether you had a great 2018 or one to forget, let’s kickoff the new year on a positive note with Tuesday’s five-game NBA slate. All five games have a Vegas total of at least 210 points but there are two matchups with a total over 230 points including the Blazers/Kings and Sixers/Clippers. I find myself deploying a balanced lineup construction on this slate but that could change if Joel Embiid is given the green light to suit up and play his full complement of minutes.

The grid below is a snapshot of today’s slate that shows the overall rating for each position for each team. The numbers highlighted in red are in the top 25% of their position for the slate and indicate good plays. Meanwhile, the numbers highlighted in blue are the positions that are in the bottom 25% of their respective position for the slate and are positions to avoid.
