Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs

Captain

• Austin Ekeler – Ekeler got off to a slow start in Week 1, but the Chargers may have saved him a little bit knowing they have a quick turnaround on Thursday night against the Chiefs. The Chiefs allowed a lot of production to pass-catching backs like Ekeler and allowed 4.64 YPC (30th) to RBs last season.

Cash Core

• Patrick Mahomes – Mahomes came out hot with five touchdown passes in Week 1 and should be forced to keep his foot on the gas in a high-scoring affair against the Chargers. The Chargers allowed 295 passing yards and 2 TD passes in Week 1 which sounds like the minimum stat line Mahomes will put up on Thursday.
• Clyde Edwards-Helaire – CEH turned 10 touches into 74 yards and two scores last week and he draws a favorable matchup against the Chargers’ run defense which allowed 119 yards (30th) on 4.61 YPC (29th) and 1.1 TDs (31st) per game to RBs last season.
• Josh Palmer – With Keenan Allen out, Josh Palmer should play on all two-receiver sets. The key to the showdown will be picking which Chargers receiving option (Palmer, Gerald Everett, DeAndre Carter) has the best game and my money is on Palmer.

I’m going full fade on JuJu Smith-Schuster, so give me Marques Valdes-Scantling at the captain. Add in Mahomes and another 1 or 2 Chiefs pass catchers not named JuJu or Kelce. Then bring it back with the Justin Herbert to Mike Williams combo.
