CFB – Expert Recap and Grades – Week 9 (Oct 26)
CFB DFS Expert Recap Week 9
Welcome to the CFB DFS Expert Recap for Week 9. The in-house guys had a great week with Greg nailing Jalen Hurts as the Single Pick and Stephen’s Power Five finding the weekly top-2. CFB got turned on its head a bit with the Sooners getting taken down in The Little Apple. Lots to look forward to in November though. Be sure to check out our full CFB Expert Grading and make sure you’re reading our weekly Consensus article which is typically posted around 9am CT on Saturday mornings.

On to the Week 9 grades, class is in session!
Consensus Recap – Week 9
The Consensus stayed consistent with last week. A 3.28 score positioned the Consensus in 16th out of the 20 experts that submitted selections.
Week 9 (Score: 3.28 / Rank 16th out of 20) – It was a nice week score-wise for the Consensus though most experts performed well last week. Ten of the 36 Consensus plays scored “A” or better and that included seven “A+” scores.
Head of the Class – Week 9
Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 9 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week. Overall, the experts put together their best week in awhile and possibly the best one for the season.
#1) Daily Overlay Single Pick (Score: 10.00) scored an “A+” with Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts as the play. Hurts continues to show out every week despite his continuously rising price.
#2) Daily Overlay Power Five (Score: 5.60) made it a clean sweep at the top for the home team. Three of Stephen’s five plays scored “A” or better including two “A+” grades.
#3) Sports Gambling Podcast (Score: 5.50) scored an “A+” and a “D” to round out the top-3 from last week.
Head of the Class – Week 9 (By Position)
Sometimes there is just that one class that you excel in. In this section, I will highlight who the top experts were at each position for Week 9.
QB – DailyRoto Optimizer, Daily Overlay Single Pick (10.00) tied atop the QB position. Our single pick played Jalen Hurts while DailyRoto’s Optimizer was more impressive playing Kellen Mond and Max Duggan.
RB – Daily Overlay Power Five, Sports Gambling Podcast (10.00) both utilized Cam Akers for their “A+” scores.
WR – RotoGrinders Lineup HQ Top 3 (6.67) scored two “A+” grades and a failing one to claim the top spot at the position.
Study Time – Week 9
If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 9 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.
- Athlon Sports (Score: 2.36) scored “D” or worse on half of their 14 plays. That said, a score of 2.36 doesn’t normally put you in the bottom-2.
- NumberFire (Score: 1.83) found their way to the bottom in Week 9 as half of their six plays scored “D” or worse.
Extra Credit – Week 9
In this section, I will look to give some extra credit to experts that received an A+ grade for a player where they were the lone expert to recommend. Week 9 extra credit goes to the following:
A+ – Khalil Tate (DailyRoto)
A+ – JK Dobbins (DailyRoto)
A+ – Pat Freiermuth (RG Lineup Builder)
Head of the Class – Season
Here are the top experts in the Overall Standings after Week 9 of the season. Our in-house Single Pick widened the gap between the 2nd spot.
#1) Daily Overlay Single Pick (Score: 6.36)
#2) DailyFantasyInsider (Score: 5.75)
#3) Sportsline (Score: 4.68)
The DailyOverlay Industry Consensus still sits in 19th place in the overall standings out of 27 experts with a DO score of 3.11.
