CFB – Power 5 – Week 9 – Early
Core Plays for DraftKings’ Week 9 Early Slate
The back end of the college football season begins this week. The College Football Playoff will be settling in soon and with the big injury to Tua, Alabama’s presence in the playoff may be in jeopardy come bowl season.
But on Saturday’s slates on DraftKings, each of the Early and Evening slates each have an extra game from the usual routine.
For the early slate, we have 12 games to dive into and pull out the Power 5 core plays. Let me say this, I think running back is a pretty terrible position on this slate. Find your two guys and stick with them this week. Wide receiver as usual has loads of options up top.
So let’s dive in and make those pockets fat!
Deshaunte Jones – WR – Iowa State – $5,800
Analysis: Jones has been the apple of quarterback Brock Purdy’s eye of late. He’s either scored a touchdown or had 7 or more catches in four straight games. He has three straight games of 7 catches or more for a total of 24 catches for 238 yards, but no scores in that time frame. I say he’s due to get in the box this week against a high-scoring Oklahoma State team yielding 258 yards passing through the air and 30 points per game. I like the volume, the target share and the matchup here for Jones as an under-$6K play on DraftKings.
