After almost a two-week vacation that included taking in ball games at Nationals Park and Camden Yards, I’m back to provide my On the Hill recommendations for Friday’s 14-game DFS slate. Friday’s slate offers a solid group of pitching options in the high and mid-price range but not much on the low end. So, while my top stack will cost some serious coin, I’ll try to offer some salary savings with my other two stacking options.

Today will be my last On the Hill column for a couple weeks as I will embark on a family vacation which will include visits to Nationals Park and Camden Yards. The Friday 14-game MLB DFS slate is packed full of quality options on both the pitching and hitting side which should help keep ownership percentages spread out in those GPP tournaments. On the night of the first NFL preseason action, there is a still a solid nine-game slate on Thursday night in the MLB with some marquee pitchers to choose from along with some solid value arms. On the hitting side, there are a few stacks that are of interest but there is one stack in particular that I will be all over.

Meanwhile, there are two popular stacks with at least five players per team. Lots of pitchers and hitters making their debuts for their new clubs. Who will impress and who will fall flat?

To calculate the Weighted Rank Score, each expert’s DailyOverlay score for hitters and pitchers is weighted on a sliding scale from 1 to 5 with the top expert in the current standings being weighted with a five while the last place expert is weighted with a one. This method gives the higher rated experts picks more weight when compiling the overall player rankings for the day. We will include all players that generate a Rank Score of at least 8.0.

If you have ever wondered how to differentiate between two players who were both selected by the same number of experts, then this is the list you need. We will include all players that are selected by at least two.

Wednesday’s pitcher and stack recommendations will zero in on the six-game night slate of MLB action. We have a big 14-game Tuesday night slate of MLB excitement. Be sure to keep a close eye on any trade deadline deals as it could shake up lineups for tonight. As of now, the slate looks like one deploy a balanced lineup by saving a little salary on the mound and getting some maybe less obvious stacks which could make it a good night to load up on GPPs instead of Cash games.
