NBA – What If – Wednesday (Jan 24)

I knew yesterday was a little too quiet in the morning and sure enough within an hour of posting my What If article Kristaps Porzingis gets ruled out. Oh well, I can’t see the future, I can only try to predict it. Wednesday’s nine-game NBA slate has a few situations to watch that will impact the […]

NBA – Hot Sheet – Wednesday (Jan 24)

Wednesday night in the Association provides a solid nine-game slate with a wide range of Vegas totals but some very tight lines with no game featuring a favorite by more than 7.5 points. There is, of course, some injury news to keep an eye on so be sure to watch for my NBA What If article coming out shortly. Also, just a reminder that my top plays will vary between sites and tonight seems like an extreme case of that with the pricing discrepancies between FanDuel and DraftKings. These selections are geared more toward DK but can be used on other sites.

The grid below is a snapshot of today’s slate that shows the overall rating for each position for each team. The numbers highlighted in red are the positions that are in the top 25% of their position for the slate and indicate good plays. Meanwhile, the numbers highlighted in blue are the positions that are in the bottom 25% of their respective position for the slate and are positions to avoid.

NBA – What If – Tuesday (Jan 23)

Tuesday’s five-game NBA slate looks pretty quiet from an injury watch perspective. Maybe a little too quiet, so be sure to keep track of news leading up to tipoff. This article will attempt to list all of the relevant injury situations to monitor for the day’s NBA slate and provide guidance on which players will […]

NBA – Hot Sheet – Tuesday (Jan 23)

Tuesday slate consists of just five games with limited injury news but a lot of high-priced studs to consider. That is a bad combination on a small slate which could make lineup construction difficult, especially on a site like FanDuel where there isn’t roster/position flexibility.  The slate is all about the PGs in my humble opinion so load up on as many as you can fit on the site you are playing on and then figure out the rest.

NBA – Industry Expert Consensus – January 19th

We have a fairly light slate for a Friday night with only seven games on the docket. Scoring could be somewhat hard to come by with just two games coming in with a Vegas total over 210. However, without any high-priced studs on the slate a little value with go a long way and there are quite a few value options to consider on the Weighted Consensus Rankings tonight.

The Weighted Consensus for the NBA uses each expert’s current DailyOverlay score to generate a Weighted Consensus ranking. To calculate the Weighted Rank Score, each expert’s DailyOverlay score for players is weighted on a sliding scale from 1 to 5 with the top expert in the current standings being weighted with a five while the last place expert is weighted with a one. This method gives the higher rated experts picks more weight when compiling the overall player rankings for the day. We will include all players that generate a Rank Score of at least 10.0.

NBA – Hot Sheet – Friday (Jan 19)

Friday night hits my sweet spot with a seven-game slate of NBA action. Just enough games to spread out ownership and not so many that I end up with so many players I want to roster. I have my 10 (Droppin’ Dimes) players listed in my article but here are a few players that just missed the cut: Victor Oladipo, Tyreke Evans, Marc Gasol, Gary Harris, Rodney Hood, JaMychal Green and Larry Nance. Depending on how some injury news breaks today some of these guys could still end up in some of my DFS lineups tonight.
