MLB – On the Hill – September 6

I’m looking to bounce back from my poor pitching choices yesterday. Of course, there were plenty of experts recommending Jacob deGrom so I suppose I shouldn’t be too down about it. I was able to personally shift to Justin Verlander on FanDuel but suffered through DeGrom on DraftKings. Oh well, it’s a new day and new slate to analyze including 12 games on the main slate with far fewer pitching options to consider but a similar look to my top options.

MLB – On the Hill – September 5

Tuesday night features a full 15-game slate of MLB action and there are a ton of pitching options that I want to use. So, while I will give my top three options below, I also have interest in Justin Verlander, Kyle Hendricks and Jason Vargas. Just a reminder if you didn’t read my article yesterday, […]

MLB – Industry Expert Consensus – September 4th

A total of 12 experts went to work on Labor Day to provide their picks for Monday’s nine-game early stale. DraftKings has a full nine-game slate, however, FanDuel broke up the slate into a bunch of bite-sized appetizers but these recommendations should translate just fine on either site. Fire up the grill, grab a cold beverage and try to win some cash playing MLB DFS, what could be better for Labor Day.

The Weighted Consensus for the MLB is where we publish a more in-depth version of the MLB Consensus rankings every day that considers each expert’s current DailyOverlay score to generate a Weighted Consensus ranking.  To calculate the Weighted Rank Score, each expert’s DailyOverlay score for hitters and pitchers is weighted on a sliding scale from 1 to 5 with the top expert in the current standings being weighted with a five while the last place expert is weighted with a one. This method gives the higher rated experts picks more weight when compiling the overall player rankings for the day. We will include all players that generate a Rank Score of at least 6.0.

The MLB Weighted Consensus article will be part of the premium content every day except Wednesday and the weekend this season. Sign up now for a FREE 7-day trial so you don’t miss any of the content here at DailyOverlay.

MLB – On the Hill – September 4

Welcome to the Labor Day edition of On the Hill. Today’s article will focus on the nine-game early “main” slate on DraftKings. FanDuel is up to their usual tricks of breaking up the slate into about a bunch of different mini slates. Note that I plan on continuing to produce this article for at least […]

MLB – On the Hill – August 30

Wednesday’s On the Hill column will focus on the nine-game night slate. I like how this slate looks after performing my research. It must be National Lefty Day or something because there are a ton of southpaws taking the mound this evening. Not all my pitching recommendations are lefties, but I’m very comfortable with the pitchers and stacks that I have landed on as there seems to be plenty of “value” options to choose from.

MLB – On the Hill – August 29

Yesterday’s recommendation of paying down for pitching had mixed results. Mike Montgomery did what I expected and was a good cheap pivot off the high-priced Ace pitchers to fit in a bunch of big bats. Unfortunately, the Rockies could only muster three runs against Jordan Zimmermann and the Tigers’ bullpen. Oh, well I still think […]

MLB – On the Hill – August 28

It is an interesting 10-game slate for a Monday night in the MLB. There are a lot of evenly matched pitching matchup whether it be on the high-end with Corey Kluber facing Luis Severino or in the mid-range with Jeff Samardzija versus Jhoulys Chacin. Because of this, I am not in love with any of […]
