MLB – Industry Expert Consensus – August 7th

Talk about spread out ownership on hitter stacks! There are 10 teams with at least four hitters on the list tonight which wouldn’t be so bad if there weren’t just seven games (14 teams) on the slate. It would have been easier to list the teams NOT to stack. Anyway, pitching will cost some money for the chalkier options so choose your stacks wisely otherwise you will likely be left out of the money.

The Weighted Consensus for the MLB is where we publish a more in-depth version of the MLB Consensus rankings every day that considers each expert’s current DailyOverlay score to generate a Weighted Consensus ranking.  To calculate the Weighted Rank Score, each expert’s DailyOverlay score for hitters and pitchers is weighted on a sliding scale from 1 to 5 with the top expert in the current standings being weighted with a five while the last place expert is weighted with a one. This method gives the higher rated experts picks more weight when compiling the overall player rankings for the day. We will include all players that generate a Rank Score of at least 6.0.

MLB – On the Hill – August 7

Starting off another week of MLB DFS with a small seven-game slate on Monday night. I’ll be going to the Brewers/Twins game tonight, so my rule is to always stack the hitters for “your team” when you go see them play. So, the Brewers make the list as my contrarian stack of the night. Be […]

MLB – On the Hill – August 4

My “Twins” stacks performed fairly well yesterday but I will return to the typical format for Friday night’s recommendations on a 13-game MLB slate. What is with the state of Ohio and strange start times anyway? There are a lot of high-priced pitching options to choose from but they all have some negatives which makes the choice difficult and may spread out ownership. Meanwhile, the Value and Darkhorse pitching options fell right into place.

MLB – Industry Expert Consensus – August 3rd

It has been a strange week in MLB DFS. Up is down, left is right and stud pitchers can’t seem to dominate the way they usually do. Let’s see if bizzaro week continues on the 10-game Thursday night slate with a couple high-priced ace pitchers to choose from. The Consensus list also has eight stack options but only one with more than four hitters on it. Embrace the variance that is MLB DFS!

MLB – On the Hill – August 3

Sorry for the delay getting my article out today but I had to take my wife and her twin sister along with my twin boys to the airport as they travel to a Twins Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio. Yes, that is a real thing (http://www.twinsdays.org/). They took me along one year and it was a strange experience for a non-twin as you walk around and see two (or more) often identical people walk by, over and over again, and don’t get me started on the parade. We’ll they think it’s the greatest thing ever, I guess you have to be a twin to get it.

So, with Twins Fest going on this weekend, I figured I should stack the Twins but I don’t love the matchup and weather is an issue, so instead I am going to list pairs or “twin” hitters that you can do some mini-stacks with when building your lineups tonight. Good luck in all your Double-Ups, ugh, I can’t stop!

MLB – On the Hill – August 2

Last night sure was a peculiar evening of MLB DFS where rostering Max Scherzer was a pain in the neck and Chris Sale got sunk. At least those two consumed a lot of ownership and as long as you had the right hitters you were still probably able to cash even with them. Heck, one of my FanDuel lineups even scored 194.9 points with Scherzer and his big three points as my pitcher.

Of course, when you have a night with a ton of aces and quality pitchers like last night, you are assured that the next couple of days will be void of starting pitching options like we have to deal with on Wednesday’s 12-game night slate. Looks like a night to grab some cheap pitching and load up on your bats.

MLB – On the Hill – August 1

It feels like Opening Day with all of the high-quality pitching options on the 15-game Tuesday night slate. It is difficult to narrow the list down to my favorite three options so feel free to venture off my list if you see a pitcher that you like or fits better with your hitters. Even with […]

MLB – Industry Expert Consensus – July 31st

Welcome to the Trade Deadline Day edition of the MLB Weighted Consensus Rankings. With the trade deadline just passing by there were a few trades made but very few big names as is often the case at the deadline where the rumor are more exciting than the trades. One notable trade that directly affects Monday night’s eight-game slate is Sonny Gray who was scheduled to start but with his trade to the Yankees, the A’s will go with Paul Blackburn. Be sure to watch starting lineups closely and keep tabs on any other last minute deals that come through.

MLB – On the Hill – July 31

It’s Trade Deadline day in the MLB which usually means we are let down by the lack of big name trades that have been rumored over the last couple of weeks. That said, there have been a few trades already that will shake up lineups for tonight or moving forward, so be sure to watch […]

MLB – Industry Expert Consensus – July 28th

Ownership will be spread out all over the place on the big 15-game Friday night MLB slate. We only have five stacks on the list and two of them only had three players make the list. Pitching should also see a nice variety in lineups with a handful of high and middle priced option on the Consensus along with a couple value plays. Should be a fun night to start the weekend!

MLB – On the Hill – July 28

We have a full 15-game slate of MLB action to dissect for Friday night. There are plenty of solid pitching options to choose from so salary plays a big role in which options to add to your DFS lineups. With some warm weather games, wind blowing out games and crappy pitcher games there are also plenty of hitter stacks to consider. Give our 7-day free trial a chance and see which pitchers and stack I recommend.
