The last few Saturdays have been downers for the experts but I sense a big comeback in Week Ten. One guy that hasn’t had a down week the last two has been Rob O’Conner of venoDFS.com. He has sprinted out to the lead in our CFB Daily Overlay Scores for the season. If you check out the scoreboard, you will notice several of our RotoGrinders experts remain at the head of the class. Two of our RG guys have the exact same picks this week. The Consensus has fallen to 7th overall for the season. Is a climb in store? We will find out this week.
You’ve suffered through a couple of weeks of bad football on television. That all changes tomorrow as we have a heckuva slate on tap. Four of the Power Five conferences feature big matchups. An undefeated Iowa squad heads to Indiana where the Hoosiers just missed out on an upset of the Buckeyes a few weeks ago. The Big XII features a matchup of unbeatens with TCU and Oklahoma State. In the ACC, the ‘Noles head to Death Valley in the only game that Clemson has a shot of losing the remainder of the year…unless they pull a typical Clemson. And finally, the heavyweight battle in the SEC. The Mad Hatter will look to take down Bama and knock the Tide out of the National Championship chase. Let’s get to the picks!
Quarterback
Highly Touted
Trevone Boykin (9x) – Pat Mahomes exposed the Pokes defense a bit last week. Boykin will look to continue that trend tomorrow.
Patrick Mahomes (7x) – Mahomes has been as consistent as consistent gets. He threw for a ton of yards last week…and took a loss at home against the Pokes. The over/under for the game in Morgantown is 80!
Recommended
Greg Ward (5x) – Another high over/under in this game of 71. The Cougs put a hurtin’ on Vandy last week.
Suggested
Baker Mayfield (4x) – Mayfield continues to put up big time numbers. He will get a shot against a suspect Iowa State defense.
Jared Goff (4x) – An over/under of 74 in this game…do you see a trend? Goff figures to be one of the first QBs off the board in next season’s NFL draft.
Luke Falk (4x) – Another Pac-12 shootout in Pullman. The Cougs almost pulled off a huge upset last week against Stanford.
Skyler Howard (4x) – I already mentioned the over/under here. Howard has been wildly inconsistent this season.
Kyler Murray (3x) – Murray has stepped in and been great. He is what everyone expected.
Joshua Dobbs (3x) – The Tennessee offense has been on a roll lately and Dobbs is the commander-in-chief.
Connor Cook (3x) – Cook is a pro QB. He has a go-to wideout in Aaron Burbridge who we will see later.
Running Back
Highly Touted
Wendell Smallwood (8x) – A lot of points will be scored in Morgantown and Smallwood will be right in the middle of it.
Christian McCaffrey (7x) – Stanford, who typically has a ho-hum offense, has taken things to another level this season and McCaffrey is the center of the success.
Royce Freeman (7x) – Freeman has topped 100 yards in each of the last four games
Recommended
Jalen Hurd (5x) – Speaking of people in the center of the Tennessee offense resurgence, Hurd has proven to be a horse of a back.
C.J. Prosise (5x) – Prosise struggled last week against a tough Temple defense. 25 yards on 14 carries isn’t going to cut it for you DFS players.
Suggested
Paul Perkins (4x) – If Perkins weren’t splitting carries, I’d be even higher on him. He still picks up yards though.
Tra Carson (4x) – Carson becomes even more dynamic with Murray playing QB. The zone read becomes a scary option for A&M opponents.
Wide Receiver
Highly Touted
Josh Doctson (10x) – Doctson has been out of this world so far this year. He takes on a banged up OSU secondary in Stillwater on Saturday.
Gabe Marks (8x) – Marks and the Wazzu offense has been killing it through the air…like any good pirate will do.
Recommended
Aaron Burbridge (5x) – Burbridge has an NFL QB throwing him the ball. He makes the most of it.
Jakeem Grant (5x) – Grant went nuts last week against OSU. He’ll get his shot against a depleted secondary tomorrow.
Keyarris Garrett (5x) – Garrett has proven to be every bit of Keevan Lucas and more. He’s turning himself into a top NFL prospect.
Darren Carrington (5x) – The sophomore has topped 100 yards in each of his two games since returning from suspension.
Suggested
Shelton Gibson (4x) – If Skyler Howard is throwing the ball straight, it’s Gibson that is catching it.
Dom Williams (3x) – Another Wazzu wideout that sees plenty of opportunities for catches.
Laquon Treadwell (3x) – Treadwell has gone over 100 yards in each of the last four games and five of the last six.
James Washington (3x) – Washington comes at a very cheap price on Saturday. He’s put up big numbers the last several weeks and that should continue tomorrow.
Isaiah Jones (3x) – This play all hinges on who is playing QB for ECU. If Summers starts and takes most of the snaps, then playing Jones is a waste.
The Mahomes-Grant combo is probably you’re best stack option of the day. If you’re looking for value, please play J.W. Walsh. He’s seen his cost go up the last few weeks but he’s also a touchdown machine. The Pokes will put up points tomorrow and Walsh will be right in the middle of it. Good luck and let’s get that cash!
