The first weekend of the MLB season kicks off tonight with 10 games tonight. While Matt and Stephen have been crushing it on the FanDuel side so far this week with their lineups, I need to step up my game on the DraftKings side.

We will be producing sample MLB lineups during the baseball season like we started doing during the NBA season. These lineups will follow a certain set of rules for Cash lineups and GPP lineups. Matt(FanDuel) and Brad(DraftKings) will be the primary creators of the lineups each day with Stephen joining in on occasion. We will track our results and provide a summary each week.

Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:

  1. We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
  2. For Cash games, we will build our entire lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in.
  3. For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
  4. We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.

As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.

Entrant – Matt – FanDuel

Cash Game Lineup

fd50504.8

Cash Narrative – Last minute switch for me with Posey out of the lineup and weather concerns in Cincy.  Lucroy for Posey at C and using Puig as an off the board because I can’t make the salary work.

GPP Lineup

fdgpp4.8

GPP Narrative – Overall, not super happy with the look of this lineup.  Off the board plays are Puig and Springer.  Let’s get it!

Entrant – Stephen – FanDuel

Cash Game Lineup

Cash Narrative – I wanted to play Liriano in my cash game, but it was impossible with the lack of value on the Consensus tonight, so Super Jamie gets the nod against the woeful Braves. Not a lot of stacking options either, so I am not a huge fan of that, but away we go.

GPP Lineup

Untitled2

GPP Narrative – Normally I don’t like to pair my pitcher with anyone from the opposing team, however with FDs new scoring system, if Mesoraco goes deep and Liriano goes strong the rest of the way, it’s only going to result in -3 points to Liriano and all positive for Mesoraco, a much-needed salary-relief candidate who will likely see light ownership. My other off-the-board play is Gregory Polanco. I wanted Hosmer at 1B, but the Consensus made it tough against with lack of value at OF position and with FD not having players like Zobrist available in that spot. Good luck all!

Entrant – Brad- DraftKings

Cash Game Lineup

DK-Cash-Apr8

Cash Narrative – The Consensus had a few good value plays hitting near the top of the lineup tonight in Gennett, Segura and Jaso which allowed me to fit in two high priced pitchers.

GPP Lineup

DK-GPP-Apr8

GPP Narrative – If you read my “On the Hill” article today you know that I have a feeling that Tillman is going to pitch well tonight. I was surprised to see a couple of other sites agreed with me as he made the Consensus list with three votes. Pairing him up with Ventura who is a high risk/reward pitching option. On the hitting side, I have two mini-stacks. The Blue Jays playing at home using Tulo, Donaldson and adding Bautista as an off the board play and the Brewers using Lucroy, Gennett and adding Braun as an off the board play.
