The MLB Consensus Lineup Construction series will come to end on Friday. Let’s see if we can make a late push to raise those ROIs up before we close the books on the MLB season. Tonight’s nine-game slate offers a variety of stacking options and low-cost pitchers to take advantage of in Cash and GPP lineups.

Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:

  1. We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
  2. For Cash games, we will build the core of our lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in and will be allowed to choose 1 player that is not on the Consensus list that we consider to be a good play.
  3. For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
  4. We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.

As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.

Cash Game Lineup

Cash Narrative – Let’s see if I can’t get back on track with this lineup tonight. Hammel seems like a safe option on the bump and likelihood to pick up a win facing Vogelsong. Rajai Davis kills left-handed pitching and the Indians should put up runs tonight.

GPP Lineup

GPP Narrative – I guess I’m going to continue to ride the Cardinals until it pays off. For the third night in a row, I went with a big Cards stack (Carp, Gyorko, Moss, Peralta). Peralta rakes at Miller Park but has yet to do so this series. A stack of Nats with Taylor and Werth at the top of the lineup and Ramos down in the 6-hole. Trumbo as an off the board play with potential for some pop. Bartolo takes the mound with the potential for a sweep.

Cash Game Lineup

Cash

Cash Narrative – Decided to pay up for hitters on the Consensus list tonight and grabbed one of the board play with Michael Taylor hitting leadoff against a lefty. I felt I could pay up for bats since there is a couple low-cost pitching option who I think are fairly safe with some upside (Hammel/Weaver).

GPP Lineup

GPP

GPP Narrative – With no Mike Trout in the lineup tonight I think many with go away from using an Angels stack but I think there is a lot of upside in the low cost Angels hitting at the top of the order tonight so I stacked the top five in the lineup including three off the board plays (Simmons, Calhoun, Cron). Also paired up a couple of Cardinals’ hitters from the Consensus. Doubling-down on Hammel in both lineups tonight and paying up for Kluber with all the salary I saved on the Angels stack.

One Lineup to Rule Them All

Lineup Analysis: Two nights in a row we have cashed both GPP and cash game entries using the one-lineup strategy. I will keep this going tonight, though I feel there are more GPP pitchers than cash game ones out there. For me, Davis, Ramos, Rizzo, Saunders and Bartolo are all BvP plays tonight. Saunders was money yesterday, so I went back to the well against tonight on this site and he is one of two off-the-board plays along with Brandon Guyer. Lindor is super cheat on FantasyDraft, but with the one-lineup strategy I am going Napoli instead in hopes of bypassing ownership levels. Just hope that doesn’t bite me.
