Hope everyone has a fun 4th of July weekend! Start out the weekend by playing a little MLB DFS and give our FanDuel, DraftKings and FantasyDraft lineups a try as we have put together a solid week so far.
Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:
- We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
- For Cash games, we will build the core of our lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in and will be allowed to choose 1 player that is not on the Consensus list that we consider to be a good play.
- For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
- We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.
As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.
Entrant – Matt – FanDuel
Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – Solid lineup with some value mixed in. I love Teheran tonight against the Fish.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – Stacks of Rangers and Rockies. Bud Norris is a mediocre pitcher at best and I like the Rox to light him up. A short stack of A’s to compliment the others. Garcia has great numbers against the Brewers.
Entrant – Brad- DraftKings
Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – Using two of the top pitchers from the Consensus with Cueto and Garcia. Had to go with some value hitters but it is still a solid lineup with some upside potential. Went with one off the board play using Perez at catcher.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – Stacking up three different teams on the hitting side tonight with a chalky Astros stack from the Consensus and a undervalued Rockies stack against the Dodgers newly acquired Bud Norris. Rounding out my hitters with a pair of off the board Royals hitting in the middle of the order. Morales is hot and one of my favorite hitters of the night. On the pitching side, grabbed a cheap Eovaldi pitching in San Diego and pairing him with Wright who could be lower owned tonight with rain in the forecast and other big name pitchers such as Jacob deGrom at a similar price point.
Entrant – Stephen- FantasyDraft
Cash Game Lineup
Cash Narrative – A lot of the same characters show up in both lineups tonight. In cash, I opted for two of the top-priced pitchers despite both having seemingly difficult matchups that I am not crazy about. I went off the board for 1 play here because Brandon Nimmo leading off at minimum salary is too good not to have in a cash game lineup vs. a pitcher that has regression looming. Anyway, I love the A’s tonight against lefty Jeff Locke and the Rockies against Bud Norris in his Dodger debut and their greatly reduced price tags also was too good to ignore.
GPP Lineup
GPP Narrative – I will be watching the weather in Boston as Kevin Roth had it at Orange/Yellow this morning. If it stays that way, I am likely to fade the Red Sox, though I suppose keeping them in with potential weather concerns would be a GPP thing to do (but I don’t like to mess around with Mother Nature). Anyway, Prince makes this lineup twice as he is my favorite BvP play of the day. I already liked Jaime as a BvP play today, but Brad pointed out something I missed – him striking out 13 Brewers on the road earlier in the season and now he gets them at home. I actually love Jaime and Eovaldi in cash, but they have GPP numbers coming in – bad form that could sink your lineups or perfect matchups that could help them right the ship. Good luck all and Happy Fourth!
