I’m finally back from a long West Coast road trip. Vacation is great but It is good to be home which got me thinking more about giving a little more emphasis on finding pitchers that are pitching at home and are in a favorable matchup. So my recommendations tonight are all pitchers throwing at home.
Ace
Danny Salazar (FD-$10,100 / DK-$9,500)
Salazar has regressed a little over his last three starts with a 5.50 ERA but still holds a 3.19 xFIP in those starts while registering a strikeout per inning. He will look to bounce back tonight against a Nationals’ offense that ranks in the middle of the pack against righties this season. On a night without many ace pitching options, Salazar has the highest potential. He is a solid Cash game and GPP option.
Value
Chris Tillman (FD-$9,000 / DK-$8,200)
I’m trusting Vegas a little bit on this one with Tillman coming in as a big home favorite against the Rockies. Tillman has pitched very well this month with four wins and a 1.29 ERA in four starts but does have a 5.40 SIERA and has benefited from a .205 BABIP against him during that stretch. He doesn’t have huge strikeout potential but should be able to put together a solid outing with a good chance for a win making him a good Cash game option.
Francisco Liriano (FD-$8,300 / DK-$8,300)
Liriano has pitched better at home this season with a 3.56 ERA, 9.22 K/9 while allowing just 0.65 HR/9 and is coming off his best start of the season striking out 13 batters over 6+ innings. He will pitch at home tonight against the Mariners who have struck out 21.4% against lefties this season. I would limit Liriano exposure to GPP lineups.
Darkhorse
Bud Norris (FD-$6,600 / DK-$6,300)
Norris has had some ups-and-downs since joining the Dodgers but he is in a good spot tonight pitching at home against a Rays’ team that has struck out 24.2% (3rd worst) against righties this season and have the 6th worst wOBA (.302). Norris is a good, cheap GPP option.
