Monday night starts off the work week with a nine-game slate of MLB action. It is shaping up to be a solid slate with a little bit of everything from a few solid pitching options to consider, to the potential for rain in Atlanta and the wind blowing out in Wrigley again (although neither the Cubs or Giants make my stack list tonight).

Let’s mow down the competition 3 Up and 3 Down…
3 Up
Ace
Michael Pineda (FD-$8,700 / DK-$10,500)
Pineda didn’t pitch great in his last start which was also against the Royals where he allowed three runs in six innings with five strikeouts. However, he will return home to face the Royals this time around where he has performed better this season with a 2.03 ERA and .239 wOBA allowed in four starts. He has solid strikeout potential and should rival Zack Greinke for the most strikeouts on the night. Pineda is my preferred Cash game pitcher on both sites and also a viable GPP option.
Value
Gerrit Cole (FD-$9,800 / DK-$9,700)
I am not a big fan of any of the mid-priced pitching option on the Monday night slate, so I will likely pay up for a second pitcher on two-pitcher sites with Cole. Cole has been extremely consistent this season with eight straight quality starts. He will face a Braves’ lineup that is without their best hitter (Freddie Freeman) and he is a small road favorite in a game with the lowest Vegas total. Be sure to watch the weather in Atlanta before rostering Cole. If I am forced to pivot off Cole in Cash games on two-pitcher sites due to the weather, I will likely end up paying up for Greinke and trying to find some good value hitters.
Darkhorse
Jerad Eickhoff (FD-$7,200 / DK-$6,900)
Eickhoff’s game log is all over the place from a couple one-run, seven-strikeout performances to allowing five runs in a couple of starts. He is far from a safe option and is only worth considering in GPP lineups due to his strikeout upside against the Rockies who have struck out 22.2% of the time versus righties this season and have the second worst wRC+ (76). Worth a flier in GPP lineups if you want to save some money and stack up some big bats.
3 Down
Top Stacks
Diamondbacks vs. Miguel Gonzalez
Gonzalez has allowed five runs in each of his last two games which were in far better spots (Padres, Angels) then tonight’s matchup with the Diamondbacks in Arizona. He has allowed both righties and lefties to join the hit parade off him this season with a .349 wOBA to lefties and .330 wOBA to righties.
Paul Goldschmidt (FD-$4,900 / DK-$5,500) – Goldschmidt has a .512 wOBA and .343 ISO versus righties at home this season.
Jake Lamb (FD-$4,300 / DK-$5,600) – Lamb has hit four homers over his last five games and has a .455 wOBA and .333 ISO versus righties this season.
David Peralta (FD-$3,100 / DK-$4,500) – Peralta compiled seven hits in the weekend series with the Padres and has a .457 wOBA and .254 ISO at home versus righties this year.
Yasmany Tomas (FD-$3,800 / DK-$4,200) – Tomas has improved his hitting versus righties this season with a .392 wOBA over his first 100 plate appearances.
Indians vs. Scott Feldman
The Indians scored 43 runs in four games against the Reds last season. Feldman has allowed four or more runs in three of his last five starts and 1.21 HR/9 at home this season.
Francisco Lindor (FD-$3,600 / DK-$4,600) – Lindor is riding a seven-game hitting streak and has a .349 wOBA and .280 ISO versus righties this season.
Michael Brantley (FD-$3,900 / DK-$4,800) – Brantley has hits in six straight games including four doubles and holds a .397 wOBA versus righties this year.
Jose Ramirez (FD-$3,100 / DK-$4,100) – Ramirez has five of his six homers this season off righties with a .380 wOBA and .234 ISO.
Jason Kipnis (FD-$3,400 / DK-$4,300) – Kipnis is batting .387 with three homers since moving to the leadoff spot for the last seven games and has a career .349 wOBA versus righties.
Contrarian Stack
Reds vs. Josh Tomlin
Conditions could be right for a game stack of the Reds with the Indians with two suspect pitchers on the mound for the interstate rivalry. Tomlin has allowed 36.2% hard contact this season along with a .408 wOBA and 1.89 HR/9 to right-handed batters.
Joey Votto (FD-$4,500 / DK-$4,900) – Votto homered on Sunday and has a .459 wOBA and .367 ISO at home this season.
Adam Duvall (FD-$3,600 / DK-$4,500) – Duvall hasn’t homered since May 6 but has a .253 ISO versus righties in his career.
Eugenio Suarez (FD-$3,300 / DK-$4,600) – Suarez has two homers over his last three games and has hit six of his nine homers off righties at home this season.
Zack Cozart (FD-$3,500 / DK-$4,400) – Cozart missed Sunday’s game so make sure he is in the lineup but he is 7-for-11 with two double and a triple off Tomlin in his career.
