Thursday features a split slate of MLB action with a four-game early slate and a five-game main slate. I’m going to pull double-duty today and provide a brief article that lists out my top plays for each slate.
This article is for the early slate of games which I guarantee that you will roster a pitcher named Zach (or Zack). Instead of stacks on the small slate, I will just list out some of my top hitters for you to mix and match in Cash games and GPPs.
This article will be a freebie since it is for a small slate and only lists my top plays without much analysis.

Let’s mow down the competition 3 Up and 3 Down…
Zach Wheeler (FD-$9,500 / DK-$10,000)
Wheeler has racked up double-digit strikeouts in three of his last four games. He is a road favorite against a Nationals team that ranks 7th in strikeout rate (25.9%) against righties this season.
Chris Bassitt (FD-$10,000 / DK-$8,600)
Bassitt has allowed three or fewer runs and posted six or more strikeouts in all four of his starts this season. He faces a Tigers offense that ranks 3rd in strikeout rate (26.3%), 29th in wOBA (.280), and 28th in wRC+ (73) against righties this season.
Zach Davies (FD-$7,800 / DK-$7,000)
Davies seems to pitch well in day games. In his career, he is 16-8 with a 3.26 ERA and 1.136 WHIP and 7.1 K/9 in day games. I’d even be willing to use him in cash games on two-pitchers sites if you need the extra salary for bats.
Christian Yelich (FD-$4,700 / DK-$5,800)
Adalberto Mondesi (FD-$3,900 / DK-$5,000)
Shin-soo Choo (FD-$3,700 / DK-$4,500)
Mike Moustakas (FD-$3,400 / DK-$4,400)
Yasmani Grandal (FD-$3,200 / DK-$4,100)
Khris Davis (FD-$3,700 / DK-$4,100)
Nomar Mazara (FD-$3,000 / DK-$4,000)
Maikel Franco (FD-$2,900 / DK-$4,000)
Willie Calhoun (FD-$2,100 / DK-$3,800)
Matt Olson (FD-$3,000 / DK-$3,800)
Christian Stewart (FD-$2,900 / DK-$3,800)
Robinson Cano (FD-$3,100 / DK-$3,400)
