There are a lot of high-priced pitching options on Tuesday’s big 14-game MLB slate. Unfortunately, there is not much to pair them with on two-pitcher sites, so if you want to pay up for any higher-priced stack you might have to go dumpster diving and hope you get lucky and find something of value down there. So, while there are a few higher priced stacks that I like, especially both sides of the Braves/Reds game, I’m going to offer up some value stacks along with higher-priced pitching options for Tuesday’s DFS slate.

Let’s mow down the competition 3 Up and 3 Down…

3 Up

Ace

Luis Severino (FD-$10,600 / DK-$13,100)
Severino will travel to Philadelphia on Tuesday to face a Phillies offense that has the second-highest strikeout rate (26.9%) over the last 30 days. He is a sizeable road favorite and will get the benefit of favorable umpire behind the plate calling the balls and strikes. The Phillies have not face Severino before and will not have a DH which should also be advantages for the young ace. Severino has a tough price tag on DraftKings but is very reasonable on FanDuel. Regardless, he is a Cash game lock for me on both sites.

Value

Zack Godley (FD-$8,200 / DK-$9,200)
You might have to go lower than Godley’s salary for your #2 SP on two-pitcher sites. Godley has been solid over his last three starts allowing two runs in each outing while striking out 21 hitters over 18+ innings. The Marlins have the 10th highest strikeout rate (23.5%) against right-handed pitchers over the last 30 days. Godley could have an edge against Marlins hitters who will be facing him for the first time in the spacious park in Miami.

Darkhorse

Freddy Peralta (FD-$7,700 / DK-$7,900)
Peralta will make his first home start of his career on Tuesday against the Royals. Over the last 30 days, the Royals have a league-worst wOBA (.271) and wRC+ (68) against right-handed pitching. Peralta and the Brewers are a big Vegas favorite and Peralta has shown some elite strikeout potential in his first three starts with a 41.0% strikeout rate. The Royals will also be without the DH traveling the NL park in Milwaukee. Peralta is a high-risk, high-reward option at a cheaper price point that may be necessary to pair with Severino in Cash games to afford some hitters.

3 Down

Top Stacks

Padres vs. Austin Bibens-Dirx
Bibens-Dirx allows a lot of contact (13.0% career strikeout rate) and a lot of hard contact (38.3%). The Padres hitters offer a bunch of cheap hitting options in a good hitting environment in the 90-degree temps in Texas.

Wil Myers (FD-$2,600 / DK-$4,600) – Myers has reverse-splits over his last couple season including a .202 ISO against lefties over the past 12 months.
Hunter Renfroe (FD-$2,500 / DK-$3,800) – Renfroe has six hits over his last three games including a double and a homer.
Eric Hosmer (FD-$2,900 / DK-$3,800)
– Hosmer has a .363 wOBA against righties this season.
Travis Jankowski (FD-$2,700 / DK-$3,800) – Make sure Jankowski is in the lineup, if not consider Cory Spangenberg. Jankowski is batting .300 against righties this season.

Yankees vs. Jake Arrieta
Arrieta has allowed three or more runs in each of his last four starts including five homers during that stretch. The bottom of the Yankees lineup offers some value options to consider.

Gleyber Torres (FD-$3,900 / DK-$4,100) – Torres has a .358 wOBA and .254 ISO against righties this season.
Miguel Andujar (FD-$3,800 / DK-$4,000) – Andujar has crushed righties on the road this season with a .401 wOBA and .275 ISO.
Greg Bird (FD-$2,300 / DK-$3,800) – Bird has a career .248 ISO against righties.
Brett Gardner (FD-$3,100 / DK-$3,900) – Gardner has reached base five times over the last two games.

Contrarian Stack

Pirates vs. Steven Matz
Matz has been worse at home this season allowing a .345 wOBA and 4.71 ERA in seven home starts. Righties have done most of the damage off Matz in those outings with a .388 wOBA and huge 3.25 HR/9 rate.

Josh Harrison (FD-$2,800 / DK-$3,700) – Harrison is a perfect 3-for-3 off Matz in his career.
Austin Meadows (FD-$2,900 / DK-$4,000) – Meadows has reverse-splits so far in his young career with a .532 wOBA and .412 ISO against southpaws.
Starling Marte (FD-$3,300 / DK-$4,300) – Marte swiped a couple of bases against the Mets yesterday and has a .370 wOBA and .320 ISO on the road against lefties this season.
Elias Diaz (FD-$2,100 / DK-$3,300) – Diaz has a .420 wOBA and .190 ISO on the road against lefties during his career.
