The leaderboard is starting to solidify, and the experts are beginning to bunch together after three weeks of the NFL season. GoingFor2 leads the way in the overall rankings with FantasyTeamAdvice representing with a strong 2nd place showing so far. Meanwhile, the top Week 3 expert was the RotoGrinders – Lineup Builder. Still a long way to go but experts near the bottom better start to make their move…

On to the Week 3 grades, class is in session!

Consensus Recap – Week 3

The Industry Consensus picks had a down week compared to the individual experts this week with an 18th place finish out of 23 experts graded.

QB (Score: 4.38 / Rank 16th out of 23) – While the ranking isn’t good the score is as the experts hit on their QB selections this week including hitting on five of the top six scoring QBs.

RB (Score: 3.42 / Rank 16th out of 23) – The top recommended RB, Corey Clement, was a little bit of a disappointment, but the next four RBs on the consensus rankings all produced either an “A+” or “A” grade with Alvin Kamara, Todd Gurley, Giovani Bernard and Christian McCaffrey.

WR (Score: 1.67 / Rank 17th out of 23) – Nailing the right WRs continues to be a challenge for the industry experts with zero “A+” grades on the consensus and only three “A” grades from Michael Thomas, Will Fuller and Adam Thielen.

TE (Score: 4.86 / Rank 12th out of 23) – The Consensus had a strong showing at TE with “A+” grades from the top two recommendations, George Kittle and Travis Kelce, with other solid options throughout the list.

D/ST (Score: 2.00 / Rank 9th out of 23) – Only one “A+” at defense with the Bears in an overall poor week for the experts at this position.

Study Time – Week 3

If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 3 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.

  • FantasyPros (Score: 2.23) struggled this week with 11 “F” grades out of 26 picks including Andrew Luck, Kenyan Drake, Allen Robinson and Cowboys defense.
  • Rotowire (Score: 2.58) had seven of their 12 selections receive a “C” or worse as they were let down by Blake Bortles, Chris Thompson and the Vikings defense.

Extra Credit – Week 3
