MLB – On the Hill (3 Up / 3 Down) – April 24

I’m back after not writing an article on Friday while I was on vacation in Boston. I hope you were able to survive the Friday slate without my advice. Monday features a nice nine-game slate of MLB action to kick off the week. Seems like all of the pitching options tonight have something working against […]

MLB – On the Hill (3 Up / 3 Down) – April 20

Quick intro for Thursday night’s seven-game slate. On the short slate, there are not any good cheap pitching options so you may want to pay up for one (or two) of the top five highest-priced arms. I also really like my stack options tonight. I will NOT be writing an On the Hill column on Friday as I am leaving for the airport for a weekend trip as I post this article. I’ll be back on Monday.

We will provide one piece of free content each weekday during the MLB season. PGA – 2017 Valero Texas Open – Weighted Consensus

Welcome to the Weighted Consensus for the PGA where we publish a more in-depth version of the PGA Consensus rankings that takes into account each expert’s current DailyOverlay score to generate a Weighted Consensus ranking.

To calculate the Weighted Rank Score, each expert’s DailyOverlay score is weighted on a sliding scale from 1 to 5 with the top expert in the current standings being weighted with a five while the last place expert is weighted with a one. If you have ever wondered how to differentiate between two players who were both selected by the same number of experts, then this is the list you need. We will include all players that are selected by at least two.

Be sure to sign up a FREE 7-day trial of our Premium Content to find out which high-priced Stud and Value options sit atop the expert’s list.

MLB – Industry Expert Consensus – April 19th

Wednesday’s 11-game night slate is full of ace pitching options headlined by Clayton Kershaw and Madison Bumgarner. Deciding which high-priced pitching option to pay up for will likely depend on your roster construction and how many value bats you can find. Luckily, today’s free Weighted Consensus List has you covered with some inexpensive options at […]

MLB – On the Hill (3 Up / 3 Down) – April 19

Pivoting away from the highest-priced ace on yesterday’s slate (Max Scherzer) for the “salary saving” ace (Yu Darvish) didn’t work out. As once again my Darkhorse pick (Luis Severino) was my most successful selection. We have a similar scenario on Wednesday’s 11-game night slate with Clayton Kershaw as the high-priced ace and Madison Bumgarner as the “salary savings” ace. Although unlike last night my projections between the two pitchers is much larger giving Kershaw a significant edge despite the high price tag.

MLB – On the Hill (3 Up / 3 Down) – April 18

Glad to see that I am still sitting on top of the leaderboard with my hitter recommendations so far this season. Now, I just need to get more consistent with my pitcher picks. Tuesday features a full 15-game night slate to dissect. Despite the big slate the pitchers that I like the best presented themselves […]

MLB – Industry Expert Consensus – April 17th

Now that we have two weeks in the books for the 2017 MLB season we will be transitioning the MLB Consensus to utilizing the Weighted Consensus score as well as adding in Projected Ownership Percentages. Monday features a nine-game slate that is void of any top echelon “ace” pitching options but does still have a few quality arms to consider.

The Weighted Consensus for the MLB is where we publish a more in-depth version of the MLB Consensus rankings every day that considers each expert’s current DailyOverlay score to generate a Weighted Consensus ranking.  To calculate the Weighted Rank Score, each expert’s DailyOverlay score for hitters and pitchers is weighted on a sliding scale from 1 to 5 with the top expert in the current standings being weighted with a five while the last place expert is weighted with a one. This method gives the higher rated experts picks more weight when compiling the overall player rankings for the day. We will include all players that generate a Rank Score of at least 6.0.

The MLB Weighted Consensus article will be part of the premium content every day expect Wednesday and the weekend this season. Sign up now for a FREE 7-day trial so you don’t miss any of the content here at DailyOverlay.

MLB – On the Hill (3 Up / 3 Down) – April 17

Hopefully, everyone had a good Easter weekend and could sneak in watching some MLB and NBA playoffs around church, Easter egg hunts and ham dinners. Monday features a nine-game evening slate to kick off the week. There are no true “aces” on the hill tonight so I am rolling with a couple wily veterans and […]

MLB – On the Hill (3 Up / 3 Down) – April 14

My stacks continue to produce and I keep hitting on my Darkhorse pitcher selection most nights which is a nice combination for GPPs. We have a big 13-game Friday night slate to evaluate including deciding what to do with Clayton Kershaw and his high salary.

MLB – On the Hill (3 Up / 3 Down) – April 13

Let’s just forget I even mentioned Steven Wright’s name in yesterday’s article and move on. At least my Darkhorse pick of Amir Garrett came through. The great thing about DFS is today is a new day with a new set of games to evaluate and a new puzzle to put together. We only have one ace on the slate so his ownership will likely be through the roof, fade him if you dare.
