NBA Value Index – Thursday, February 9th

Welcome into a special edition of the Daily Overlay Value Index. We are providing wall-to-wall coverage for tonight’s NBA slate due to taking off Tuesday when we had just 3 games. Be sure to check out the Industry Expert Consensus with our updated ownership projections and the Weighted Expert Consensus. Matt and Brad do a […]

NBA Value Index – Wednesday, February 8th

Where’s the damn value? That’s the phrase I uttered to myself after going through tonight’s 12-game slate. When muttering that question to myself in angst, I was asking it in regard to a lack of sub $5K options on DraftKings. I am writing this Tuesday night, and surely there’s plenty of value that will open up […]

NBA Value Index – February 7th

Tonight we have one of the rare small slates in the NBA. With just three games, Daily Overlay will not have an Expert Consensus. However, we will bump our usual Tuesday coverage to Thursday, so mark that on your DFS calendars (yes, I know those don’t really exist). Small slates aren’t easy, in my opinion, […]

NBA Value Index – Monday, February 6th

Well I hope you enjoyed Super Bowl LI, what a freaking game. I started writing this thinking about how the NFL playoffs were a joke. But then I had to mass delete everything I had written because the GOAT of the NFL led the Pats back to victory in the first NFL overtime game in […]

NBA Value Index – February 3rd

Hope everyone had a safe Groundhog Day. I know the holiday can cause quite the ruckus, especially when we are to have 6 more weeks of winter. We have at least 6 more weeks of NBA regular season action (and more), and tonight is a nice, hefty 9-game slate. If you are just joining in for […]

NBA Value Index – February 1st

After a pair of short slates, we have a nice, giant 12-game slate to kick off the month of February. Early on in Tuesday’s slates, we had a couple of early injury scares. Norman Powell and James Harden each go down with injuries early in their games, but luckily returned to play as needed. Unfortunately, […]

NBA Value Index – January 31st

Please do not excuse this shameless self-promotion. Two weeks since the debut of the Index, we have vaulted to the top of the Daily Overlay NBA Expert Standings. Yes, It’s just two weeks, and hopefully our picks are closer to the mean than being 18-for-20 from the field with negative regression to follow. Tonight is another […]

NBA Value Index – January 30th

In case you missed it Sunday, the Hawks and Knicks did something that hadn’t been done in the NBA since 1951 – play a four overtime game.

The Hawks came out on top in the end, but only by 3 points, despite the Knicks having Carmelo, Porzingis and Noah all foul out throughout the overtime periods.

I played a two-game tournament lineup and stacked this game, scored around 380 points and only doubled my money. I don’t think I’ve personally ever scored that many points in an NBA DFS lineup. The winning lineup had 420 points or so. Those are crazy numbers for NBA DFS, let alone a 2-game slate.

Tonight we have a small, 5-game slate on tap for the Association, so no need for long commentary or anything today.

As a reminder, the Value Index is published Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Mondays and Tuesdays are premium days while Wednesdays and Fridays are freebies. If you feel like you are missing out, subscribing to premium content is simple and only a click away <——-click that link! As an added bonus, you get a 7-day free trial for signing up, so what do you have to lose for the next week?

If you are new to the Index, here’s a quick rundown of how it works: I recommend one player at each of the 5 main positions using DraftKings pricing and position eligibility who I feel has the best chance to hit 5x. It’s that simple.

Now on to the picks!

Point Guard

Yogi Ferrell – Dallas Mavericks – vs. Cleveland Cavaliers – $3,500

Analysis: I rostered the “Bear” last night at 0.5% ownership, but the rest of my team failed miserably. No Deron Williams for the Mavs, and Ferrell is signed to a 10-day contract, so expect the Mavs to get the most of this guy while they have him. He is just $3,500, but he does come with risk as Carlisle is very Belichick with his players, make a mistake, sit on the bench. I don’t expect the Mavs to be very competitive in this game, despite the Cavaliers being down Kevin Love. I expect Ferrell to be the value play of the day due to recent performance against the Spurs. I think he’s a cash game staple, but could be faded in tournaments.

Small Forward

LeBron James – Cleveland Cavaliers – vs. Dallas Mavericks – $10,000

Analysis: You probably don’t need me to tell you that Kyrie Irving and LeBron are nearly must plays with Kevin Love out of the picture. I want to play Andrew Wiggins here due to his recent play, but his price has come up and we have to rely on him to continue his hot streak, and Wiggins is never a guy I seem to get right. James gets the bump with no Love and can stuff the stat sheets. This is a no brainer with a safe floor despite the Mavericks playing at one of the slowest paces in the league.

NBA Value Index – Friday, January 27th

Happy Friday everyone! We wrap up another week of NBA DFS and inch that much closer to the NBA All-Star Break. This is the end of a second week doing the Value Index, so I hope you have enjoyed what you have read and have found the information to be helpful and profitable. Today is […]

NBA Value Index – Wednesday, January 25th

We have a 10-game slate in the Association tonight, with basically every stud player in the league to choose from. This should be a fun slate, but it makes selecting just 5 picks rather difficult, and again with me writing this night before, any news is possible that could completely tilt the slate. See Spurs […]

NBA Value Index – January 23rd

This will be our first full week for the NBA Value Index, and I am excited to be writing this for the remainder for our NBA coverage. The Index will run every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, but will now be premium content for half of the week. On days that we provide the NBA […]
