We got off to a great start last week with our lineups in both FanDuel and DraftKings combining for a nice 65.9% ROI. Check out all the results in the MLB – Industry Consensus Grading article. With a split slate today our lineups will be focusing on the six-game night slate as we look to continue our good run the start the season. Lineups below from both Matt and Stephen on the FanDuel side and Brad on DraftKings. Give them a try or use them as a starting point and pivot to some of your favorite plays.

Here is a list of the “rules” we are following when constructing lineups:

  1. We will make two separate lineups for each site (FanDuel and DraftKings), one for Cash games and one for GPP tournaments.
  2. For Cash games, we will build our entire lineup from the Consensus list using any player listed regardless of what tier they are in.
  3. For GPP games, we are allowed to choose up to add 2-3 players that are not on the Consensus list to help complete a hitter stack or we consider to be a good play.
  4. We can modify any lineup as we see fit for any late-breaking lineup news that opens up good options even if they are not on the Consensus list.

As always be sure to check for late-breaking news regarding weather and lineups.

Entrant – Matt – FanDuel

Cash Game Lineup

fd50504.11

Cash Narrative – Several guys in this lineup with pop. With FD’s new scoring, homeruns provide a major boost so let’s hope we can drop some bombs.

GPP Lineup

fdgpp4.11

GPP Narrative – Off the board with Michael Taylor to save some salary. Anytime you can grab a guy hitting leadoff at a price of $2,200 it’s not a bad play. I’ll use my other off the board play for Cespedes to create a mini-stack with Duda/Cespedes. Targeting Colby Lewis with three Mariners.

Entrant – Stephen – FanDuel

Cash Game Lineup

Cash Narrative – Fading Max Scherzer in both lineups seems ridiculous, but with the small slate and without having the ability to play players in two different positions (a la DraftKings), I was hampered by the Consensus, so Sonny Gray gets the nod and I really like him tonight anyway. Having Max was going to force me to fade Giancarlo AND Harper tonight and i think at least one, if not both, go off.

GPP Lineup

Untitled2

GPP Narrative – Bud Norris is on my list of pitchers I hate. The Nationals struggled in their first meeting, so I am going to bank that this meeting won’t go as well, especially since the Nats are at home with Scherzer on the mound. After one start, Bud has a 3.86 ERA, but his xFIP (5.23) and SIERA (5.10) tell me he’s already getting extremely lucky. I got a Nats stack going with Ramos, fit in Harper AND Stanton and have a wild card in Brandon Finnegan who should be able to rack up the Ks. Cespedes gets my off-the-board play, though I am surprised he isn’t a Consensus player based that both he and Cosart are reverse-splits guys.

Entrant – Brad- DraftKings

Cash Game Lineup

DK-Cash-Apr11

Cash Narrative – Not enough value on the Consensus list tonight to get Max Scherzer in my lineup, so getting the next best SPs with Gray and Lester.

GPP Lineup

DK-GPP-Apr11

GPP Narrative – Paying up for Scherzer in my GPP lineup and pairing him with Finnegan as a pitcher with a lot of strikeout upside tonight (was my Darkhorse pick in my “On the Hill” column). On the hitting side, I put together two mini-stacks including the Astros (Correa, Rasmus, Tucker) who were all on the Consensus list tonight and the Mets using Duda from the Consensus list and playing two off the board Mets in the middle of the order with Walker and Conforto.
